It was the rigid arm holding the sign rather than the sign itself that caused the crash. There is no room to move out of the way without hitting another rider.

She's a heroine. I felt that this lady was avenging me for every cyclist that I have been stuck behind while driving on a 1 lane road.

^^Haha! But the difference is that they actually get hurt on the bikes, and there is no race stoppage. People get back on the bikes and ride to the finish with broken bones and bleeding all over.

^I assume most things in Chit Chat are in jest, but this is a pretty irresponsible perspective. So what. You were delayed a few seconds of your day. Many will look for a place to pull off if it is safe to do so.

If you actually watch soccer, you'll see that often times it really is a hard foul, those dudes are running fast, and a cleat to the foot or a knee to the thigh really hurt, especially at full speed. Watch it in slow motion, they're usually not faking the foul. They just end-up looking silly when they try to over-sell the foul to make the refs see it.

I know you're trolling, but on the off chance that you really think this, watch the slow-mo. There was full arm and shoulder involvement. They're moving fast with a high center of gravity. It's like someone taking a swing at you despite her arm being stationary. Then also watch the full speed of heads slamming the pavement. No one wants to crash. It's both painful and financially costly.

While I feel like cyclists have a right to be on the roads, cyclists continue to ride on very dangerous country backroads that aren't suited for their traffic. Too many tight curves, too many blind spots.

It's only a matter of time before a juvenile driver with not enough experience driving has an accident with a cyclist, and at least two lives will be ruined from it.

You don't want them riding on country roads with low traffic? That's the best place for them to ride. It's a dangerous activity because in car versus bike, car pretty much always wins.

I have a bar end mirror because I never trust that someone is going to see me and move over appropriately. Gives me at least a chance to ditch as opposed to being run over.
