Lololol the appeals process for this independent arbitration is hilarious. It just goes to the commissioner or someone he selects and they can impose whatever penalty they feel like. How the fuck did the NFLPA agree to this??? Oh wait it's because DeMaurice Smith is a clown.

This is not a judgement of the outcome of this particular case, just realizing how hilarious it is that the league appeal means they can impose any penalty they want this rendering the arbitration completely pointless.

^^It feels backwards, the NFL should have imposed penalty and then the player appeals and they meet in middle. So now NFL is going to suspend him indefinitely he will appeal again, and will probably be allowed to play until his appeal is heard.

Of course the independent arbitrator's reasoning for 6 games was pretty weak.

That's standard procedure now for any head/neck injury. And they don't cut them off, they just unscrew like 4 bolts (depending on the helmet, some are even easier.)
