I think it’s best for our CFP hopes that Bama won. I’d rather play Bama in the title game than the semifinal. Which may not be possible if we’re both undefeated. That would mean one of us needs to be a 4 seed. Surely the committee wouldn’t disrespect us like that

^^just to be completely clear, I’m totally kidding about national title stuff. I’m trying to enjoy the hype and excitement of having a team that has a chance to be really good (in the context of NC State football). But I fully acknowledge that the ceiling for this team is conference title contender at best. Which doesn’t look unrealistic. Clemson still looks really beatable.

Our passing game still seemed off early in the game but started to get going near halftime. Hope it stays hot for next week.

Didn’t watch any of the TT game but the box score is kinda unimpressive.

Their QB (who was originally the back up but their starter was hurt week 1) threw 56 times but for only 351 yards. 3 INTs. They took 6 sacks. 4.5 yards per play as an offense. Houston had 2x the penalties of TT and didn’t do well converting 3rd downs.

Not sure if the 56 pass attempts is normal for them. It’s year 1 of a new coach. No idea if it’s the air raid or what.

Yeah, my big takeaways was that for the first quarter the passing was still a bit off, but started to gel as the game went on. Granted, as the game went on we ran more and passed less, but I think Leary and Lesane/Carter/et al are starting to get on the same page. I'll try and find a video of it, but the TD pass Leary threw to the back of the end zone was I think a bit underthrown, and could've been broken up by a better team. All part of getting back into things though, so I'm not too concerned

^^^ definitely a bit underthrown but that’s a wheel route with a LB covering Houston. I think you make that throw every time in that coverage and assume a LB is not capable of making that play.
