I was always weird to begin with, so if anything, LSD has made me feel more normal

Maybe your friends just overdid it, or deep down they were just pretentious dbags all along and acid gave them the excuse to embrace it. LSD and psychedelics can also trigger mental illness in some people, so maybe that's what you were observing.

It's definitely not for everyone, so if you already know you won't like it, don't bother trying it. Set and setting are key to having a safe/enjoyable trip, and way too many people either take way too much their first time, or put themselves in a situation where they freak the fuck out.
