TWW has somewhat been replaced in spirit by this app 'yik yak' which allows you to post stuff anonymously within a 5 mile radius
like anon reddit basically, except the subreddit is your 5 mile radius

I downloaded it once at UNC to insult people over there
but I'd say its general use is more... I don't know how else to put this. more feminine than this site

Speaking personally here, but the Wolf Web was never particularly anonymous. A lot of people on the site obviously started out knowing each other and invited their friends. Plus there were constant parties with Wolf Webbers in attendance. A lot of people (myself included) had their actual names on their profiles, and if a regular poster didn't list their name, odds are that you knew another user who knew them, so you could just ask.
