Thinking about going electric. Oral B has way too many options out there, but it seems like that's what a lot of dentists (mine included) recommend. 5/25/2023 1:53:47 PM |

I use an electric, a Philips Sonicare. I dislike that the battery isn't replaceable, but it does a good job. 5/25/2023 4:04:16 PM |

Oral b or sonicare electric brushes are good
But get a waterpik (the thing that shoots jets of water into your mouth) to really make a difference

^^I've always considered one of those, but are consumer grade water picks really powerful enough to do anything? 5/26/2023 3:37:11 PM |

THIS! I don't get the hype with electric toothbrushes. I've bought like 8 of them over the years to see what all of the fuss is about but the batteries always die after about a week. Then you either have to use it like a normal toothbrush or just throw them away. Ridiculous! Why are people paying $100 for a toothbrush that's only electric for a week? What a scam and waste of money.5/26/2023 6:25:54 PM |

It's mainly to pretend you are better than people with manual toothbrushes. 5/26/2023 7:37:53 PM |

^^^ Yes 100%. I don’t use mine daily, it doesn’t replace brushing, just when you feel like using it.
I hadn’t been up a dentist in 10 years And when I started going back the hygienist said my teeth seemed like they had just been cleaned. She didn’t even do a cursory cleaning. The dentist affirmed this. I had cavities still for other reasons but no plaque or anything between the teeth or at the base 5/26/2023 8:21:26 PM |

I have a waterpik as well, but I definitely think it should be used in conjunction with regular flossing 5/26/2023 8:27:32 PM |
