I've started to drink a lot more water lately, but I wanna make sure that I don't flush out the vitamins or electrolytes or whatever, so I've been adding some lime in.

I'm looking into yoga for flexibility, and some type of self defense training to know i could beat people up if i had to...but first I got to figure out how to manage not being so worn out from work

Other than sodium my food choices are pretty good its just that I need to eat smaller portions and learn to live being a little hungry. I often eat a majority of my calories in the evening closer to bed. Find it difficult to sleep on an empty stomach

Started off the year strong, gym, walking, fasting, etc and saw significant weight loss...

Then my sciatica started acting up and that allllll went to hell.

It still comes and goes randomly, believe it is how I sleep and from sitting around too long.

Got back on it once that "healed" and then my knee started telling me to slow down, never had knee issues before so I took it light...

Never got back into it, but today I have started back.

Hopefully I will treat my body better and get back.

^^ why is your weight increasing, dude?

either:

1) you are way overeating (to more than offset even the bb???), or
2) you are still growing (are you 13?), or
3) you have a serious metabolic disorder

if it's not 1 or 2, then go see a doctor who is knowledgeable about these things.

if it's 1, then cut back. get help from a nutritionist if needed.

if it's 2, how are you on this website???

Basically it's 1. I love food, so I still keep eating. Also positive attitude/happiness helps growing fatter, I'm just saying.

Doing hoops is beneficial, but I only play at Thomas Brooks Park, which is a small outdoor court in West Cary, for about one hour each time. So the overall calories burnt are far less than enough.

Yes, I should refer to a nutritionist for more smart advices.

i recall thinking those "6 min abs" DVDs for sale decades ago were silly but have found in 2025: you dont need to go to the gym hours per week. 6 mins a day of prison work outs and diet discipline can get you good results if you have good jeans

I decided I've got nothing better to do, I'm gonna see if I can see my abs first time ever. Doing a slow cut prob til Thanksgiving, tbd if it "cuts" it and if my abs have enough muscle to be seen even with 0% fat. Doing weight training at same time but know it's hard to builder new muscle while cutting.

^ugh, stuff like that makes me pee a lot cause i have to drink so much water to chase it down

My new project is working hip and ankle flexibility. I literally am physically unable to go into a deep squat. Searching so far they say I need to "open" my hips and i have "tight" ankles. Either heels come up, or if i go all the way down have to stand in like a sumo stance and have hands on ground to balance myself, and back way hunched over. Several videos i've seen so far on stretches to help with hips and ankles

I'm down 50 since I started weight loss again
got derailed when the insurance company made me switch from Zepbound to Wegovy

I'm finally back at an effective dose and I'm just now starting to lose again

I could drop another 30 and be doing alright

the tricky part is to gain muscle mass while losing weight

Def heard you need to do some weight training while on that stuff to maintain mussel mass.

Also heard the doses on the Pharma ones are generally high even on the low setting. looking the compounding pharmas they can lower the does and mix it with another peptide to get less mussel loss. but don't think insurance covers those, but the price is not to crazy.

It's extremely difficult to add muscle while in a deficit. Most folks focus on keeping protein high and doing weight training just to maintain.

^^what if someone got like 200g protein a day but had 500 calorie deficit?

Gonna get some blood work done next week to see if testosterone particularly low, and check lipids/alt etc just to see how eating better, no booze, and exercising has helped

This is only true if you are in shape. If you are starting untrained fat ass it’s relatively easy to lose weight and gain muscle. The line for men is around 18% body fat and women slightly higher under which it starts being difficult to gain muscle and lose weight.

oh yeah I'm not at risk of fitness being an a priori condition

my weight loss has slowed since the insurance company forced me to switch from tirzepatide to semaglutide but it's still happening, kind of -- I've been hanging out at this plateau

tirzepatide made it easy to eat OMAD but semaglutide is such that I need to eat a small meal early in the day to be functional

I think I'd break through it and lose dramatically again if I started back on a keto diet
but I'm not feeling like doing that right now what with the cost of meat through the fucking roof and with carb season sneaking up ready to hit me with mashed potatoes and stuffing

if I'm still lingering around this plateau at the end of Q4 I will make the switch

but, in the meantime, I will keep lifting

Do you use a tracker to track your calories intake? I swore I'd never do it and now I've maybe swung too far to obsessing but it's helped me a ton.

I used cronometer, not perfect but it's free and generally does what I need. At home I weigh things (again maybe too much), and away from my home i estimate and try to err on the side of over estimating calories. Main thing it's helped is serving size and limiting snacking sessions.

Chocolate ones are obviously higher than vanilla. Sucks they don’t report the real results only the ones with zero detected.

You can get a heavy metal test if you are concerned.
