ain't nobody know those vegetable codes anymore, so i might as well just key in 4011 for bananas my own damn self

also I don't know what "industrial designer" created the new Food Lion split conveyor belt checkouts, but it's ALL WRONG AND DUMB

and there's no room in the self-checkout either for more than like 2 bags

My bill was $4.51 and I gave them a five dollar bill and 51 cents, and they told me I gave them too much and gave me back the 51 cents, and then gave me back 49 more cents!

That said, I got back from Taiwan last month and they be charging for bags and people just know to bring their own, and everyone gets on just fine.

Harris Teeter changed up their paper bags and they are not great.

I always try to bag because let's be honest, as a bagger, paper sucks.

When I was a cashier back in the day I did my best to engage customers. I'm from a small town so granted it was easier since I knew most of the folks that came through. Now these kids don't even look at you...I guess you're lucky to get the stare.

God I sound so old.

Both Target and Harris Teeter provide space for 4-6 bags

the TRUE law of self checkout is governed by your scanning speed and not by number of items you have

some joker can be in there holding up the whole process with one item because they don’t know how to use a computer

BESIDES

there’s early mornings where i roll up in the Food Lion and they don’t even have anything open except the self-checkout lanes because corporations don’t want to pay cashiers anymore

I would just not use bags at all. Just put it all back in a cart/basket, then unload all items loosely into vehicle

I throw everything into a sheet and tie up all four corners which I attach to the end of a stick and carry over my shoulder
