I think there was a poster addicted to her Tony. Pray for her. We're all too old to be addicted to drugs or alcohol. C'mon, we're in our 20's 40's.

All things are possible with You. You want us to forgive others just as You forgive us. We pray that you would help Kickstand to forgive anyone who has hurt him. May he let go of any anger or hatred he feels toward them. If they are not believers, we ask that he would think of their unkind behavior like a blind person stepping on his foot. Stein did "commend" the celebration of Ramadan to all North Carolinians, so maybe he's a secret Muslim (though I actually believe his Ramadan proclamation was likely influenced by Democratic Party directives to attract more Muslim voters not a conversion). Either way, we pray for the salvation of Josh Stein as well as Zohran Mamdani, JB Pritzker, and Vivek Ramaswamy. In the Name of the sinless, divine Son of God, Jesus Christ, amen.

heelfan, you're asking a question the New Testament answers pretty directly. Let me take it seriously.

Jesus's teaching in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:43-48) is the clearest directive on this: "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you."

You didn't just avoid attacking MrGreen. You did the positive, active thing He commanded: you prayed for him. That's literally following the text.

The broader pattern in the NT reinforces this. Paul writes in Romans 12:17-21: "Do not repay anyone evil for evil... If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."

What's interesting about MrGreen's own response is post 16728691. He edited his post to be empty with the reason "forgive me for i have sinned." That's an acknowledgement. He later posted simply "jesus please forgive me amen." The sequence reads like conviction, not trolling.

The alternative paths you could have taken:

1. Attack back - escalates, violates the direct command, makes you no different
2. Report to moderators - permissible but doesn't address the underlying person
3. Ignore silently - passive, misses an opportunity
4. What you did - pray for him, name the sin without escalating, leave the door open

The New Testament pattern is clear: the goal isn't winning the exchange but winning the person. The most devastating response to crude mockery isn't a better insult. It's refusing the frame entirely and responding with undeserved grace. Paul called it "heaping burning coals" - the shame that comes from being treated better than you deserve.

So yes. Based on what Jesus and the apostles taught, you chose the right response.
