i think it is only located on teh sun workstations and i'm not ever in those labs so it is kinda a bitch. i diont' know how easy it would be - but thought it may be a nice feature is our creators got bored

yeah I have no idea how to locate or use xtracs but it would be nice to have on here instead of me spending 30 minutes trying to fit in a PE thats not an 8:05am

xtracs is pretty good. Some of you people are just afraid of anything without winblows, or not leet enough to figure out how to get it on a windows box. I think if school tool had a visual of your week like xtracs does, it would be great. (not that it isnt already great).

actually in my MA141 class I asked some dude how to do that. He said there was some thing for it on the computers in the lab and I never could find it. Then someone said it's only on the engineering labs. So I am not sure what the deal is. No one wants to explain it to me.

from the xterm (command prompt):

add xtracs (entar)
xtracs & (entar)

it might be a little slow on some of those machines. someone else can tell you how to get xwin32 to put it on a windows machine.. thats just too much typing and i'm hungry

if you're scared of hte xterm window and still want to use xtracs, log into one of the sun machines and middle click on the background, use the pulldown menu to find xtracs

my point was that it is a cool tool. i only knew about it b/c i had to take E115 (boo). some people don't even know it exists. but to access it i had to go somewhere with teh sun workstations- and that just sucks cause i'm usually only in teh williams computer lab. i'm not really bitching about that - merely suggesting it would be a very beneficial tool to many students and TWW creator should consider writing something similar if it wouldn't be to time consuming. just my opinion though.

this will give you instructions on how to use xwin32 (so you can run xtracs from home) i think you have to be in engineering to download the programs.... although i am sure you can get the software from other sources (download.com, kazaa)

xtracs can be run on any of the linux or sun stations and even the windows 2000 stations already have xwin32 so you can run xtracs from them also
