What's the difference between "The Lounge" and "Chit Chat?"

The only difference is that in the lounge, your post (theoretically) has to make at least a little sense.

Soap Box........................ Lounge......................... Chit Chat

If that doesn't help, nothing will.

The idea of the Chit/Chat - Lounge split was to keep the personal conversations out of the Lounge. Chit/chat is mainly for your basic thoughtless posts. Since it (not surprisingly) gets the most traffic, people post other general interest stuff in there. However, the Lounge is where topics of general interest are SUPPOSED to go.

Chit Chat was once the Trash Bin, where deleted threads went. Users couldn't see it. Then, last year, it was made visible to premium users, then later we could post in it, then it was opened up to everyone and is now Chit Chat.
