mine shows the threads that have been posted to since my last visit. this stays the same for the entire session; it after i read a thread and go back to that particular board, it still shows 'new' even if it hasn't been updated since my last view. im guessing that's normal though

it makes me think the site is dead...yet it kicks into effect once I start posting, showing the "new" icon only in threads posted while im on the site...
