20/22 in a 6-2 win last night. Our #10 picked up a few penalties as per usual.

I know he doesn't read tdub, but I needed a 10.

I don't really like the Externo holder, so go for the Tuuk.

i might have them take the holders off, give me the ls2's and give them to wally. basically, they said they'd keep the e-pro holders and knock off whatever for the new ones.

hockey season's back, so this thread needs a bump.

Why is the curvature of the stick blade such a big deal? Does it make your job impossibly harder if Jaromir Jagr has an illegal curve to his blade? Can it just be shot harder that way, or is it harder to read? Why?

The biggest problem with a huge curve is that someone can wind up and take a huge slapshot without any thought of accuracy and still hit the net. That's when you get 120 MPH slappers flying at your head...uncool.

Thanks. So why does Jagr care? It's not like he takes many slap shots.

Who is the goalie in Canes camp with the completely white helmet?

Wow! You know everything. I figured out that Peters was the other guy.

Where's the worst spot to take a shot? Any gaps in the pads I should know about?

And I still don't understand why Jagr and Ovechkin like extra curved blades.

At least this is making me sleepy.

The worst spot for the goalie, or the shooter? I'd say the hardest shots to get on a consistent basis are ones that come in on the blocker side, just above the pad in the butterfly, because it's hard to get your blocker out there sometimes when you're doing a passive-hands butterfly. Bad angle shots can also be tricky, because pads these days are meant to seal in the butterfly, not seal the post.

Basically, a big curve allows for more accuracy and more finesse in the hands without having to worry so much about the puck rolling off the blade.

What's wrong with it? There's nothing wrong. The only problem is the stupid instigator rule which prevents fights when they should happen for the good of clean play.

Because people have to work in the morning, and 37 year-old assistant bank managers usually break when you hit them. There are a few full-contact adult leagues and tournaments, but you have to look hard to find them.

Almost no one (save Commodore and Walker) played worth a goddamn, and Tanabe is up to his old tricks and was personally responsible for the third goal. Cam had to make some crazy saves on lateral shit and was still only 9/11. Walker had a good fight, though...really pounded a guy who got in a little too deep for his own good. Willy and Cole both jumped in on different incidents when guys were going after Staal, but Willy left in the third with some sort of groin problem (eep).

Did she have fun? I took a n00b, too, and she had a blast, despite the poor showing.

BTW, my favorite comment of the night --

Some dude above and to my left: Pull the goalie!
Wade (or maybe Dammit100?): Pull Tanabe!

He's a defenseman who doesn't play defense. That's the main complaint.

His lazy positioning helped contribute to the first goal and the combination of his so-poorly-timed-I-said-"no"-as-soon-as-he-moved pinch and his inability to corral the puck led directly to the third goal.

The main problem is that he's a good skater and pretty good with his stick, but he's so selfish he never gets to use those tools to help the team in his own zone. I'm hoping he'll get better, but we've been told that he's ready, in his second stint as a Cane, to buckle down and play team hockey...but tonight it looked like the same old Avi.

"why does joshnumbers spell goalie goally?"

--Not sure if this was answered, but back during the playoffs (Canes/Sabres series I do believe) someone mispelled "goalie" with goally and the Canes won big. Ever since then it was established that if someone spelled it "goalie" and the Canes lost that they would be blamed for it. :-)

--Oh and ^^ those are some sweet looking skates.

--As for the topic. I thought they were ditching the trapazoid behind the net and we going to allow goalies to play the puck again in the corners. What gives?

^^ I never heard anything about ditching the trapezoid.

^ Legace doesn't have much help, but who's available? Giguere is only getting half to a third of the Ducks' starts, but he's been playing well. Vesa Toskala is also an underrated starter.
