i just have the play and charge kit...the one with the cable. they have those new quick charge things now but i dunno which is better...atleast with the play and charge kit you can plug in the controller and it charges while you continue to play... 8/8/2006 12:13:40 PM |

i have:
4 controllers 4 play and charge kits
when i get the "please reconnect your controller" message I just pop out the battery pack, pop in a fresh one, and plug the old battery into a controller and charge it 8/8/2006 1:03:00 PM |

again, if you dont have a ton of controllers (or play 20hrs a day), dont bother. you won't save any money in the long run. 8/8/2006 2:09:38 PM |

you'll also never have to buy AA batteries (for your 360 controllers) again 8/8/2006 2:38:33 PM |
cyrion All American 27139 Posts user info edit post |
it aint hard to buy a 12-24 pack once a year while ur at the grocery store. that way you never have to wory about having a free outlet to charge um or having to plug a cord in. it goes both ways.
id do it for a buncha controllers like J, but not if you have one (maybe even two) or are just a casual gamer.
[Edited on August 8, 2006 at 2:49 PM. Reason : i misread, it was T with the controllers.] 8/8/2006 2:43:43 PM |

the charge and play kits charge on the usb ports of the xbox so you dont need a wall AC outlet
i see what you're saying...i personally have 4 controllers but i've also gotten 4 player games of nba, tiger etc8/8/2006 3:07:14 PM |

nah tree, definately worth it for you. im just advising ppl like me (plays a low to medium amount, but generally is only using 1 controller) to save money.
guitar: 20 bux seems like a good deal until you realize just how many AA's that is (especially at a place like sams). i calculated (based on my replacement for the last 6mo) id have to use it for 3 years to break even, given that i only have 1 controller. not only that but AA's last longer than charge packs. how long are the cords though?
[Edited on August 8, 2006 at 5:23 PM. Reason : i mentioned AC outlet for the quick charge kits that you can buy] 8/8/2006 5:21:05 PM |
TreeTwista10 minisoldr 148441 Posts user info edit post |
cords on the charge kits are probably about the length of a wired controller
a cool thing is, once the battery pack dies for good (after like 1000 charges if you ever charged it that many times) you can either go back to AA batteries or just use it as a wired controller 8/8/2006 5:40:08 PM |

Chromehounds is supposed to be amazing online. I believe Penny Arcade referred to the singleplayer as merely "training" for the real game online. 8/14/2006 11:18:39 PM |
ScubaSteve All American 5523 Posts user info edit post |
yea, i have yet to actually play the single player on chromehounds, my brother beat it in like 2 days and got all the parts from single player for building a mech online and thats all we do.
I think it is worth the purchase just cuz it is the type of game that stupid 10 year old screaming kids don't play(like the people who play halo2). Also the graphics are amazing and it actually does involves strategy and some skill to play. 8/15/2006 12:52:51 AM |

i would rate it exactly how game informer rated it
7.3 out of 10
graphics - 9.0 sound - 8 gameplay - 6.5 replay - 8 story - 5 8/15/2006 6:06:35 PM |

I would have to go with the Gamespot player review of 8.2 out of 10. just because of what i said before

People get pissed cuz they can see my icon lit and tell me to mute even if im not saying anything. Then they curse at me, and I curse back, and usually sometimes they boot me.
