page 10 says we suck

But I'm almost glad we lost. Evtimov said after the game on the radio that they've been playing horrible defense the past 4 or 5 games, and they need to get back to playing NC State defense.

Hopefully this will be an eye-opener for us and we wont drop a stupid conference game against clemson this weekend.

we played absolutely terrible tonight but those damn refs were terrible. I have gotten pissed at refs before but never blamed them for our losses, well tonight they were to blame....that and the way that seton hall made everything they took or got the second chance points.

oh well at least it wasnt a conference loss

Ok the referees didnt help, but we lost that game ourselves.

You could have blamed the refs if we lost to Wake, but not this time, even though they were pretty horrible.

But I guess you never know...they did seem to kill us every time we started to make a run...like at the beginning of the second half. Who knows.

^ see thats my point, it wasnt that their calls or lack of them was the problem its that it killed our momentum in key situations

and Herb got a technical!!

and if anyone didnt see Seton Hall missed 13 shots in the first half, of which they got the rebound 12 times and scored the second chance points....thats one time that they didn't score in the first half 1!!

Damn...i cant believe they missed 13 in the first half...I coulda sworn they had shot 80 percent with the amount of shots they made. I guess we just suck at rebounding.

This game is just one of those aberrations many Top 25 teams have had before. State has problems with quick guards and athletic 6'9" forwards. It's all about the matchups. Seton Hall may be one of State's worst matchups this year. I expect the Pack to bounce back quickly, after Herb gets done with them.

by "bounce back" you mean find a "favorable matchup", and ride a string of consecutive favorable matchups til the end of the season?

simmons is slow and inexperienced. he's won't matchup against athletic big men. If they take it to him, there's a high probability that they will have success.

bethel is a shooting guard, small, and is an average ball handler. He can be checked quite easily by other fast guards.

Wow...I figured everyone would be more pissed....I didn't even get mad.....you have to expect this every year....
I was more pissed at the announcer that wouldn't shut the heel up about how good we were the first 10 mins. He jinxed us.....you know we can't be bragged about or we lose....I am just glad Dick Vitale wasn't the announcing!

This game reminded me alot about the St Johns game last year. We were just plain horrible. Watching the game, I kept thinking about how this is basically a crappy high school game. Players losing balls out of bounds, dribbling off their shoes, missing layups, crashing out of control into each other. It was a sad, sad performance and hopefully our guys will use it as fuel to play harder and not take any game lightly.

Maybe we just don't match up well against these NY/NJ bred Big East teams??? I seemed to sense this coming earlier in the day, just a bad matchup all around. Their quickness/athleticism on the dribble penetration and crashing the offensive glass killed us, plain and simple.

we lost, get over it.

Venting was sooooooo page 8.

Now time to look towards the Clemson game and right the ship before it really becomes an issue.

While this was a very, very shitty game, I don't think it qualifies on the same level of meltdown as St. John's last year.

Yep. This was all about intensity. SH brought it. Our starters did NOT.

oh come on, the way he owned SheWill will attest to how stupid this observation is

the refs were terrible last night but wasnt the cause of our defeat.

we played cold and flat the whole game. people were not thinking, making stupid mistakes and you could see lack of concentration on the court.

plus, you could tell that our squad took them way to lightly and didnt expect SH to come out ball'n. Not to mention they made everything tossed up at the goal.

our rebounding was terrible and not to mention we didnt have any real rhythm the entire game.

GG to Herb for the Technical...i was wondering when he was going to get one!

i hope this will tighten the squad up for the rest of the ACC and you cant say Seton Hall was on FIRE last night....they could have beaten any top 15 team last night they way they were playing.

at least it wasnt a conference loss
