Has anyone heard news about Degand or Harris? Supposedly they're appealing the NCAA to be able to play this year. Seems like the chance would be slim, but it's possible. 10/10/2006 6:09:01 PM |

Not trying to instigate anything, this is just an observation. Sidney Lowe has failed at everything he has tried to do since he got to N.C. State.
Couldn't get Simmons to come back Failed to keep Davis Failed to keep Werner Failed to lure McMillan Failed to get Wright Failed to bring Brackman back
Anything else I have missed? I was so optimistic when he came, but I am beginning to think the basketball program has been set back 10 years. 10/11/2006 3:53:11 PM |

A few. We seem to be the favorite for Smith (assuming he becomes eligible), and some others are possibilities. They're all forwards, though.
Interesting that that guard just popped up on the list today. Just goes to show that those lists aren't a comprehensive set of the guys we've talked to.10/11/2006 3:56:31 PM |

he didn't have a fair shot at davis, werner it didn't seem like he was overly interested in McMillan (and Herb had a huge head start) Simmons might have left anyways Brackman wouldn't have played anyways10/11/2006 4:11:47 PM |

Walt Sobchak, are you a moron? are you really this dumb? 1. Coach Lowe had no chance to keep Ced / herb couldnt have made Ced come back 2. Davis and Werner were comming here to play for Herb not NCSU they wanted to play Herb Ball 3. McMillan wanted to stay close to HIS home and HIS dad / Herb recruited him hard but Herb leaving was the nail in the casket 4.Failed to get Wright / you gotta be kidding me ... Wright is another player that wanted to run Herb Ball. Coach did a great job at getting NCSU back in the race. 5. Brackman wouldnt have came back if Herb was here / lets see....Andrew has said over and over and over that playing baseball in the pros has been his biggest dream since he was a kid he has always liked baseball over basketball ... not too hard understan Walt, unless you are a slow kid that rode the short bus

Simmons was definately gone regardless of the coach.. im pretty sure he didnt like playing behind the 3-point line.. and ^^you're right he never had a fair shot at Werner or Davis.. Brackman would have been stupid if he didn't concentrate on baseball

he got both Wright and Hickson, two of the top players in the country that pretty much any program would want, to visit us. he got Horner to stay, and from the interviews released yesterday he and the rest of the players are loving the coaching staff and especially Coach Lowe. Johnny Thomas one of, if not the top player in the state has already committed to us. he realized that he would be short personnel, and was able to get a speedy pg in Degand, who was looking at a lot of other quality programs, to transfer, and had Towe convince Bartosz to come along with him to State. Lewandowski may not be a great player, but he provides a body for practice and will see some playing time behind McCauley. Lowe put together a dynamite staff, and was able to do all of this while getting a late start on recruiting. the fact that we even got Wright and Hickson to put us in their top 2 was simply amazing. Lowe also has already started getting the attention of one of the best players in the state for next years class in CJ Williams. Lowe is doing a great job early on in his career here with what seems like a lot going against him. 10/11/2006 5:53:45 PM |

I mean we're not going to be anything short of God Damn awful this year. I'll judge Lowe based on how the team improves as the season progresses. 10/11/2006 6:41:11 PM |

i may be drinking the kool aid, but i am realistic in saying that we probably won't be very good this year. that won't stop me from being at the games, rooting on the Pack, and being excited for the upcoming basketball season. saying the Lowe has failed here is anything but true. most of the things that Lowe has gone through are common during a coaching change unless one gets a Roy Williams caliber coach. 10/11/2006 7:18:32 PM |
