Good game yesterday for the Braves. Olsen can be nasty, but the Braves were patient and then pounded his mistakes.
Starting another series with Nats tonight while the Mess are playing the Phils. The Braves need to take advantage of these games with the Nats because eventually it'll be the Mess playing them and the Braves playing the tougher competition. 4/16/2007 4:34:26 PM |

it's on sports south, which i guess is turner south
i really don't understand why orioles and nats games are blacked out in raleigh
i mean, i know they are the two closest markets but isn't the point of blacking out games to encourage fans to buy tickets
like i'm gonna drive five hours because the game is blacked out durrrr

Woodard definitely touched the bag - you could see the dirt mark appear as he hit it. That ump blew the call, but it didn't really matter considering the Braves forgot to bring bats with them when they left Atlanta.
James pitched okay except for the four straight two out hits he gave up in the 3rd inning. Hopefully the Braves can get the next one from the Nats.

again the game is not on tv, i am tired of raleigh time warner cable. We only get like half of the braves games. In Greensboro you get at least 75%. They either need to get turner south channel or change which FSN channel we get. 4/17/2007 2:00:07 PM |

Raleigh is NOT in the Braves television market so it has NOTHING to do with Time Warner and everything to do with MLB. It's in the Washington Nationals/Baltimore Orioles market and that isn't changing unless they move Atlanta about 100 miles Northeast. Next year you won't get ANY Braves games in Raleigh considering TBS dropped them.

^ He right, but MLB is extremely gay for considering Raleigh in the Nats/Os market. There are 10X more Braves fans in the Triangle than Os and Nats fans combined.
I used to get mad if the Braves were playing and it wasn't on TV. Now I am just happy if I catch a game a week. Fuck MLB's TV contract....... 4/17/2007 3:45:42 PM |

Cox is at least going to be around through 2008
Quote : | "Bobby Cox agreed to an extension on Wednesday that will keep the four-time Manager of the Year in Atlanta through 2008. "No one is more deserving of this than Bobby Cox, and we are very pleased to extend his contract through 2008," said GM John Schuerholz.
The 65-year-old Cox has guided Atlanta to Major League Baseball's best overall record since 1991 (1,519-1,018). Since then, the Braves have earned a 14 division championships, five National League pennants and a World Series title. Cox has guided his clubs to 66 postseason wins - second all-time to New York's Joe Torre (75)." |

Say what you want but the division race was over last year on May 5, when the Braves blew 2 leads at Shea and lost in extras... Now obviously neither sides fans should call it a year in April but with the way the Mets are playing i don't think we'll lose too many series to crappy teams so that makes the ones against good teams that much more important to the other side. 4/20/2007 2:29:02 PM |
Senez All American 8112 Posts user info edit post |
I get you, but in terms of the way the Braves are playing this year as opposed to this time last year, it is extremely different. I think by the series you're talking about, the Braves were 4 games under .500 and playing realllllly poorly. Let's not forgot that TERRIBLE month of June when they went 5-21. It's gonna be interesting so long as nothing super-significant happens to either side, barring the Hampton thing earlier this year. It'll at least be more fun anyway. 4/20/2007 2:43:33 PM |

The Braves have got to hit this weekend against the Mets. They are tearing the cover off the ball and the Braves cannot expect the pitchers to hold them to 1 or 2 runs each game. I have a bad feeling about this series because the Braves have looked pretty pitiful especially when they run into a decent arm like Rich Hill's last night. 4/20/2007 4:02:55 PM |

3-0 Braves on a McCann double, should be 4-0, but it was a ground rule double.
Make it 4-0, wild pitch, Andruw Scores.
