What's the point of the showers after the diving?

How chlorinated could an Olympic pool be? They are in there for like 5 seconds, and they will be going back in in like 15 minutes.

last night when those gay dudes from the US were diving she answered that question. her response was something like:

"the pool water is cold and they go to the showers directly afterwards to warm up, stay loose and to just have fun!"

Beach volleyball is SOOO much more fun to play though. I can sort of agree about it being boring..I still like watching it some, but its a sport of such small scope in scenarios that the best of the best are so solid there isnt much variation in the action
