Okay --- I can tell you guys for sure the creator is not a TWW member, b/c she's my best friend. Her intentions were to have the flashmob/rave/whatever on the brickyard, and that got 'shut down' at 11:30 when they intercepted the DJ.

This shouldn't be on her shoulders for someone driving their car onto the Brickyard, or pulling the group out onto the streets or doing anything at all. The group, on FB, as advertised said specifically to 'dance until it dies down' well.. it died down pretty quickly and it was the idea of the mob to move it to Hillsborough.

Also -- please stop sending her hate mail. Regardless if you think she went about it the wrong way, or if you think the idea in itself was stupid, it's really ridiculous to send the girl HATE mail telling her she single-handedly disgraced the school or whatever. She didn't encourage the vandalism. On wall posts she said "no alcohol, no drugs". It's not like she sat there and went "Damn.. how can I cause a mass riot???" She just wanted to start a new tradition here.

As far as I'm concerned (and the hundreds of other students on the commemorative FB group), it was a good time for all who attended (unless you're the idiots that got arrested). In the 2 years I've been here, aside from the crowd at the Bell Tower following the victory over Duke, I can say it was the most on-campus fun I've had here at State.

AND; This was not a copy-cat move to try and create what UNC does. No. This is done at a LOT of schools aside from JMU & UNC. When we learned that this was a tradition at most colleges & universities, we thought hey, why don't we do that at State? .. Besides, UNC does theirs in the library, apparently (where they're restricted to how many students can attend) and we didn't think DH Hill would be a good idea for fire codes, possible broken property and possible injury.

I doubt that any hate mail is coming from the users here. Most of us are lazy or honestly just don't give enough of a shit, and the few that might were probably all asleep when this happened.
