I understand pro pitchers aren't the best hitters. But how does a professional athlete pull an oblique swinging a bat? Really.

if you swung it hard as they do, im sure you might run the same risk.

from my experience, stopping midswing can hurt...

One missed strike call on Friday away from a sweep

Nice to see Uggla remember how to play baseball, though

Chipper with a tear in whichever knee he didn't hurt last year. Gonna sit for a few days, but it could require surgery. I'd think that would mean Prado to third, Hinske to left, which would be fine unless (until) Hinske cools off. Would also mean Diory Hernandez and Conrad see more time and they suck.

Meanwhile, Braves have the best run differential in baseball.

Age without the benefit of PEDs.

How are the Braves +41 and only 4 games over .500?

^ Too many close losses and quite a few blow out wins.

Did not realize Beachy went on the DL too. Teheran to pitch on Wed per the AJC? Hopefully Chipper's knee will hold up and he won't need more surgery. Injuries really starting to catch up to the Braves and depleting their otherwise deep roster. Thank God for Hinske. He and Ross both deserve to start for some team somewhere.

And Scott Proctor. WTF? Proctor, Sherrill, and Linebrink = mediocre bullpen in 2008, much, much less in 2011.

Proctor's contract had a stipulation that he had to be called up by May 15. He'll probably make 3-4 appearances and get DFA'd.

^ congrats on getting into the Beta club, that is a pretty exclusive group.

As for the Braves, Hinske continues to be the catalyst for the team. Got the rally started that led to the 2 run inning and then got the game winning RBI. Hanson pitched very well outside of a couple mistakes he made to Downs.

LOL at the Astros manager for pitching to Mather with 1B open and runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. Should have walked him and forced Gonzalez to pinch hit for Hanson. Also fuck the Marlins, please begin to realize you are not as good as your record.

Great win, gg to McCann for two huge homeruns. Pretty good day considering he did not even start.

Gearin got in a jam, but somehow got out of it to earn his first career win. Love how this team is playing right now. Great pitching, good offense, surprisingly good defense (especially Gonzalez), and a clutch bench.

I think lemke was the most flexible second basemen ever. The cards I have of him he is in an akward positon throwing the ball in everyone of them.

When I was in 5th or 6th grade, it was around 1991 when the Braves made the run to the WS and Lemke tore shit up on Minnesota (would have won the WS MVP if not for Lonnie Smith forgetting how to run the bases).

Anyway I was big into baseball cards and actually used to sell them at a flea market along with my older brother. This was in Florida so the Braves were very popular and I got $9 bucks for a Lemke rookie during the WS. I put it in a screw down case to make it look valuable. Someone, somewhere probably still has that <1 cent card still in a screw down case.

Smith was coked out of his mind. I'm surprised he didn't try to snort the baselines.

I've got one of the big two-inch binders full of Braves cards from 84-94ish

And two or three boxes full of other cards

Still in my closet, I don't know why

--

Gearrin sent down to Gwinett to make room for Teheran. The other option was to release Linebrink, who's probably on his last life right now.
