Refs sort of took over the end of that Atlanta - Chicago game. Rose goes up for a 3, down 90-84. Gets fouled, but it's called as an inadvertent whistle and leads to a jump ball. Atlanta gets the ball and goes up another basket or two and the time slips away pretty quickly.

I don't think I've ever seen a league MVP flop this bad in the playoffs. Rose is very exciting to watch but he's probably the worst MVP selection of all-time. The guy just isn't that good yet. How he landed in the top 10 of MVP candidates is perplexing really.

As for Thibodeau he can't even figure out that he's supposed to play Ronnie Brewer over Korver and Bogans. What a joke coach of the year is too.

You'd think people who get paid to cover the NBA would have some clue what's going on in the league.

get better! why should a team hold back? i would rather see a team pour it on regardless of context than watch a team mail it in because they are up by 20.

So Dallas is 10-0 ATS. I'm late to the party but will ride this train until it falls off the tracks.

The Wade-Lebron pic is just plain awesome. Any picture with Paul Pierce's ugly ass needs to be burned.

League needs more enforcers. Everyone is too buddy buddy these days. If it takes an forearm shiver to a Puerto Rican to make that happen, I'm all for it.

Not at all surprised that America's Favorite Sidekick's Sidekick admitted to feeling jitters before the last game.

The crowd should eat him alive tonight.

Remember when Dirk was awarded the MVP after losing to the 8 seed (Warriors) in the first round? Obviously it was not all on him, but the press conference when he received the award was pretty awkward.

I gotta say I like the Celtics picture more. There's just so much going on.

You have Pierce in the early stages of attempting an autistic dirty bird, Garnett bowing to the Garden crown, Ray Allen being all cool and Jesus like and Nate Robinson breakdancing. Nevermind the fist pumping guidos leaving the front row in silence.

Both pictures are pretty cool. I like everything going on the Celtics picture though. But the Heat picture is cool...DWade doesn't even have to turn around to see the finish, he's already celebrating.

Still clutch Ray... and LeBitch answers back.

*** i still will never understand pierce dribbling out and fading away like so often happens when you have as big time a shooter as there has been since Reggie out there...

Fuck the Heat. I really, really hope this team doesn't win it all. Wade getting away with playing like a prick has really destroyed this series.

West had Ray wide open on the extra pass but took the shot himself.

Two in a row West took it with Ray on the wing.

Not having Rondo at 100% really is the difference this game. Wade being a bull without a leash pays off...

Heat half court offense is a little boring. They just pass the ball to lebron or wade and wait for them to make a play.

Ughh Dallas might be the only team left that can beat Miami. I don't see Chicago doing it and Memphis/OKC/Atlanta have little to no chance.

^I like Memphis. They are a complete team. They can dominate the paint and have the youth, quickness and scoring to challenge Miami on the perimeter.

Damn, now that my Lakers are out of it, I have to put all my hopes on my Heat pulling through. At least I don't have to pull against one of the two if they had met in the Finals.

Westbrook has taken 14 more shots than KD. that should never happen. I don't care if he has 40.

Disagree.

It shouldn't happen on a consistent basis, but Westbrook is dynamic. If he's hitting, then it's okay. As good as Durant is, he can be passive at times. When Westbrook starts getting hot, Durant defers to him (as he did in the 2nd quarter last night, telling Westrbook to keep attacking).

Westbrook is a volume shooter who monopolizes the ball, which can work with the right team around him (see Chicago bulls). It doesn't work when you're leaving the league's best pure scorer (and a much more efficient scorer) in the lurch by jacking up a million shots.

I don't mind the shots if he's taking it to the basket. He's a freak athletically and can finish and draw fouls with the best of them. I'd say he's as quick/fast as Rose but can jump better. I don't like it when he's jacking up threes though.

If they get to the next round, he will destroy Kidd and Barea.

Let's not forget that Durant had 18 free throws. He still got a lot of shots up...they just don't all show up.

True, but all that matters in the end is that Westbrook took 33 shots for 40 pts and Durant took 20 shots for 35 pts. I'm not calling him a chucker yet, but he's on the way.

Yeah, but dallas will destroy Perkins and Ibaka. The OKC Dallas match up favors Dallas.

What? Why would Dallas have a distinct big man advantage? Of course Dirk is going to put up some points on Ibaka, but it's not the mismatch that Westbrook/Kidd is.

Westbrook <-> Kidd
Sefolosha <-> Terry
Durant <-> Marion
Ibaka <-> Dirk
Perkins <-> Chandler

You can't do a straight forward positional analysis. Most of those players won't guard each other. If Dallas is smart, they put Brewer on Westbrook, and use Haywood's 6 fouls to beat the shit out of him everytime he ventures into the lane.

Agreed that you can't just compare the positions and make one-on-one match ups. What I'm trying to figure out is how Ibaka/Perkins are going to get destroyed? Tyson Chandler ain't scaring anyone.

They'll be less effective because Dallas doesn't have to score inside like Memphis does. If they're scoring mainly on jumpers and three's, it'll force OKC to go small, thus tilting the axis is Dallas' favor. Perkins is useless outside of 10 feet from the basket on defense, and outside of point blank range on offense.

What your saying goes along with what I'm trying to say. Saying Ibaka and Perkins are going to get destroyed suggest that Dallas is going to dominate the paint. The Lakers got destroyed because they are based around being a big lumbering team with Odom, Bynum and Gasol and didn't have a small lineup. OKC is the opposite with all of their key players being athletic.

I think it would be a good series, but saying the 4/5 position is going to get dominated suggests Dallas would score a bunch of points in the paint or that OKC would be harmed by sitting Perkins.
