I am sure this has been mentioned, but a lot of these "anti-gay" organizations aren't really anti-gay at all, at least not in any reasonable sense of the term. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes, for example, is (in my experience) a totally benign organization. I attended my high school's chapter for 2 years, and all we did was sing hymns, discuss Christianity, and pray for each other. The issue of gays was never once mentioned in the whole time I was involved.

Maybe if you cornered the national president of FCA and asked him if he's in favor of gay marriage, he'd say no. But FCA is not actively anti gay-marriage.

"Anti-gay" calls to find some blathering, hate-mongering minister who's furiously condemning all homosexuals to everlasting hellfire. But a lot of the groups Chick-Fil-A is denoting to probably fall somewhere on the tamer end of the spectrum.

I consider myself a liberal, and I am most definitely in favor of gay marriage; but the propagandistic aspect of this whole anti-Chick-Fil-A campaign makes me sick.

I think "anti-gay" is a fair term to use, considering that organizations that actively seeks to keep marriage between a man and a woman are labelled "pro-marriage." Pro-marriage, to me, means that they are for anyone getting married, regardless of sex. However, that's not the case at all. Those organizations have a misleading name that tries to paint them in a better picture than they actually are, whereas anti-gay paints them in more of a negative light than they actually lay (for some organizations anyway).

A more honest term is anti-gay-marriage.

My stance: let the government recognize marriage between any two adult consenting individuals otherwise don't recognize marriage at all. Really the only reason the government is involved is for legal reasons (giving benefits, protections, etc.) from what I can see. Maybe the issue is instead of the government calling it marriage, call it a legal union of two individuals (regardless of sexual orientation)... maybe this would get rid of the Bible thumpers who say changing the Biblical definition of marriage is shitting all over Jesus Christ's face.

I mean, FML, politicians are basing the legal definition of marriage based on what they say the Bible and God said. How is this not violating the separation of Church and State? Some politicians are saying it is strictly a religious institution.

Seriously, fuck it. So fucking sick of all this back and forth bullshit. So fucking sick of all this polarized political nonsense. So fucking sick of how politicians would rather spend their time talking about a chicken sammich rather than talking about fixing more pressing problems. Fuck it.

just because the president and owners or whoever say they believe marriage is between a man and a woman doesnt give the city of chicago or new york or wherever to then discontinue business with them or change effect that companies business based on religious matters. considering there are still some states that have not passed a law for gay people....so how can u then effect them.
