Russians got into them. They're fucked now.

I'm actually surprised they haven't offered Assange asylum.

So strange how they ended up exposing all truths and not just the ones that advanced my political ideology.

I think you mean "truths" as that tweet linked on the previous page is a verifiable lie/half-truth clearly intentioned to smear a non-political justice department employee.

Putting out information that was hacked on the DNC of Clinton didn't make them hacks. Julian Assange didnt hack either. However he got the information he had every right to post it in my mind.

The planned dissemination of it to maximize impact was a political decision and the fact he linked to GatewayPundit and posted completely out of context tangentially related emails (earpiece for example) to back up those fake news pieces makes him a hack with an agenda. The fact he continues to do that with the deeply disingenuous Mueller hitjob this weekend makes me wonder what on earth he is doing.

Somewhere along the line he went from someone who was doing what I see as a public service to being a hack. Why? Not sure...

Wikileaks is not the source of information. They leak whatever anonymous sources give them. You seem to be assuming they were provided with emails from every candidate and only released one. Its much more likely that the more powerful sources have a specific bias, not wikileaks.

Do you not find it highly suspect the extreme glut of information on one side and the lack of information on the other?

Wikileaks may have started out with high ideals - no way to know for certain. But it's been entirely turned into an anti-western outlet.

And it's not at all clear to me that having Wikileaks as an amplifier/speaker for that bias is ultimately a positive thing. Do you disagree?

It's not even that. If all they get handed is DNC or Clinton stuff, fine. No issues there. Release it after the proper curation all at once. Let us read it and make judgments.

That isn't what they did, though. They dripped it and connected it, whether intentionally or not, with Trump campaign and surrogate talking points. This is irrefutable. I go back to the earpiece thing only because it is the most dramatic and ridiculous example.

I get it. He has a personal vendetta against Clinton. Probably for good reason. But he blew up any veneer of acting solely on behalf of transparency. He has continued this well after the inauguration as well.

^exactly this.

And now, with Wikileaks verifiably untrue attacks on Mueller, it's moved well beyond just wanting to sink Clinton. He is either actively colluding with Trump-Russia or wants to see the US fail.

The problem being, during any "failure" of the US, the military and the Oligarchy will be the LAST people affected. Your comment wishes untold pain on 100s of millions of Americans.

I mean, if that's how you really feel, why haven't you fire bombed the local government building yet?

do you think you might be exaggerating a bit?

and i'm honestly surprised we aren't seeing more terrorism directed at politicians/government facilities. the angry youth of today are too busy wielding Resist™ signs and yelling at rednecks.

i don't think we're operating under the same definition of "fail"

all i'm saying is i want to see a wider revelation of the oligarchic/imperialistic structure of the US government, to the point where people demand actual change.

I guess define "failure," because every scenario I can come up with cascades into average people living off cat food, probably violence, infrastructure ceases to function and likely no internet (*gasp*).

And yes the youth of today yell at rednecks instead of the government. Possibly because a significant portion still see the government as a possible agent of positive social and economic change. If we could just convince rednecks it might also be in their interest.

It's littered with falsehoods and terrible science and is actually totally UNREASONABLE.

But diversity of opinion, even shitty nonsense opinion, should be allowed. Shouldn't have been fired.

Shitty science wasn't the best way for me to put it because there is a base of truth there. I'm about to run into a meeting but I'll come back to this tonight or tomorrow.

Haven't read the memo yet. Presuming he wasn't a manager and wasn't calling for prejudiced action on anyone, I also agree he should not have been fired.

Here's a good counter to the memo: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/differences-between-men-women-vastly-exaggerated-adam-grant

No it doesn’t... he wanted Trump to win in order to force military policy to the left and to force Democrats to examine the toxicity within their party. Plenty of leftists speculated that a Trump win might be better in the long term.

They also heavily backed Bernie over Hillary. Why would they back a more electable Democrat if they wanted the GOP to win over everyone?

They may have done both. The Russians supported Trump and Bernie (in many respects, though not to the extent they did with Trump). Perhaps like Putin, it was more of an "anyone but Hillary" thing.

Though, considering Russian Intel used Wikileaks and Arrange willingly went with it, I don't think Arrange had any objective personally.

If the goals of the far left are to move the country as far to the right as quickly as possible then Trump is perfect. Who cares if no one has health coverage, Medicare and welfare is gutted and every level of the judiciary is stacked for a generation? At least the centrists lost!

(And I wanted Bernie to win but anyone with any shred of common sense could predict the consequences of Trump. I actually underestimated his outward racism and the level of ideological conservatism he has championed).

Yes. Besides confirming he’s an awful person it also confirmed that he had an end goal in mind and that he used his power and reputation in highly unethical ways and really can never be trusted as a nonpartisan transparency seeker again.

Whether or not you like/hate/are indifferent to Clinton this holds true.

Sure, I'll agree with you there. But personally, I'm happy to see this is the direction they're going. We don't need any more "non-biased" news organizations. We need fighters for the left.

This article is just the Intercept trying to throw a smoke screen in front of the Wikileaks/Trump/Putin relationship. What a crock of shit.

Exactly. The only "leftists" trying to play this kind of multi-dimensional chess are the ones that are already comfortable. It's playing games with people's lives.

But.... he’s not. Like at all. It’s insane to me that someone can think he is. He’s excused Russian authoritarianism, tacitly supporter National Front and openly supported Trump (vs HRC). How... how is that left at all?

FWIW, I don’t even associate anti-imperialism as far left. More like common sense.
