He had already said he was transferring. Just picked a school today though.

Also, I don't know why they put this on the helmets:

I like the helmets a lot. I hope we see some some other changes too - I really wish the normal red/white uniforms would look more like the Rivers uniforms. Then we could have the alternate uniforms and I think a once a year throwback (old normal S, or diamond S helmets) would be nice too.

I'm not a fan of the wolf eyes on the back of the helmet, but I like the carbon fiber / feathered red look.

I look forward to seeing these bad boys on the field striking fear into the hearts of our opponents. Then losing by 40.

would have rather we stuck to white helmets with the red stripe. We haven't had a solid looking uniform since the Nike/Philip Rivers days.

ehh, pretty much every team does some kind of alternate jersey nowadays. So I don't view it as one of those "win in them or you look like jackasses" things anymore. 10 years ago? Yeah. But not when almost every other team regardless of level of success is doing it too.

well, it's better than this so that's a plus:

Maybe we'll top it off by adding a nice pair of these for everyone on the team..

Never really understood why so many are obsessed with the Nike era Rivers jerseys. They were very bland to me. Likely has more to do more with nostalgia about the excitement around the program at that time than the actual jerseys.

^haha that's great. Really looks like they ripped the design off those heels lol

I've always liked the Rivers era jersey because they didn't have a ton of black in them and didn't have lettering on the front. Take the design from the Rivers era, throw a block S on the back of the neck or something and I'm good with that, plus some alternates and the red helmet.

Cool, did Oakley make those helmets?

Cause I can see only fuckers who still wear wraparound sunglasses thinking this looks cool.

Maybe we should add some airbrushed flames, or an Oregon logo.

I don't mind black uniforms at all, but these look like something meant to appeal to guys who get that pattern airbrushed on their shitty truck.

We're not their target audience. The reaction video from the team indicates that they love it, and that means the majority of recruits will like it too. That's who they're pandering to. At least they're trying something different and not all stodgy like the TOB era. Gotta change with the times.

To TOB's credit, I guess he did allow the black unis and red helmets.

people dont like the wolf eyes i see... explain?

i think it makes it very unique to our team (Wolfpack obviously).. several teams have done the carbon fiber flashiness, but I think you have to add your own twist, and that's what we did. And to me it looks sharp.

plus, as i've already made clear, all i think about is the sad wolf eyes logo that old man came up with and the university made some shirts with a few years ago.

9/6 Old Dominion 6pm

I guess they didn't learn their lesson from last year's opening heat bowl game, and decided it would be a great idea to sign off on another one. I'll tailgate and dip, fuck sitting in there in the sweltering heat.

It's on ACC Network. NCSU or Georgia Southern have no say in the matter.

It's not like NCSU is saying "Oh yeah let's have our fans get burnt at noon on a 90 degree day"

What a bunch of fucking women. I agree that I dont really like noon games, but just because of the lack of tailgating time as compared to a night game, but Jesus bros, its the first game of the year, if you cant be excited enough for that to deal with a little heat/sun then you need to gtfo of Wolfpack county.

that's not that bad for August in the south... would definitely take that. You get up to 95+ and it gets rough but you just drink a lot and look at chicks that have to wear clothing based on that same heat and watch a little god damn football and you are ok.

I bet some of you fuckes will stay home purely based on the time of the day wont you?

History repeating...

Quote :
"Dave Doeren wants N.C. State fans to spend more time in Carter-Finley Stadium and less time in the parking lot.

The new coach challenged fans on Monday to get back in their seats for the start of the second half, instead of spending more time tailgating at the break.

N.C. State announced a crowd of 54,204 at Carter-Finley Stadium for Saturday’s season-opening win against Louisiana Tech. While the stadium was nearly full for the start of the game, there were considerably fewer fans in the stadium to start the second half and the Wolfpack leading 24-7. The numbers got smaller in the fourth quarter as the Wolfpack stretched its lead in a 40-14 win.

Doeren thanked the fans for their support during the pregame “Walk of Champions” and in the first half but said there needs to be more bodies in the seats in the second half.

“The passion that our fan base has, we need them to be in the seats in the third and fourth quarter to be a great team,” Doeren said on Monday at his weekly news conference.

“You win big games in the third and fourth quarter. It’s great to start fast with a big crowd but it’s better to finish with one. That’s an advantage that we need to gain.”

It has been long-standing university policy to allow fans to leave the stadium at halftime and to re-enter after a tailgating break.

N.C. State athletic director Debbie Yow said Monday that Doeren has not asked her to change the policy. Yow said the heat (temperatures were in the high 80s) was more of a problem on Saturday than the halftime policy.

Yow said the school prefers to schedule games at night early in the season to avoid such scenarios, and will play Saturday’s game against Richmond at 6 p.m., but that the ACC’s television contract was the reason the game was scheduled earlier.

“It was brutally hot with a 12:30 start,” Yow said Monday. “I understand why Coach D would want our fans to be there and they usually are.”

Jonathan Skinner, an N.C. State fan from Durham, sat in Section 224 with his sister, Emily. Skinner said he was directly in the sun and made it until the end of the third quarter.

Skinner said the re-entry policy wasn’t the main culprit for the lack of people in the stands in the second half.

“I felt like we had the game in hand,” Skinner, 33, said. “I wanted to be there as long as possible, but it was about as miserable as I’ve ever been in a game in which my team was winning.”

Doeren was hired in December from Northern Illinois to turn the Wolfpack into an annual Top 25 contender. He said for the Wolfpack to be a national program, it needs consistent fan support.

“So I’m asking for them to change their routine a little bit and come back into the stadium a little earlier and stay a little longer and support our guys,” Doeren said. “That’s something we need if the program is going to grow the way everybody wants it to.”"

I had my 2yr old and a pregnant wife with me for that game and it was brually hot. I'm not ashamed to admit I left at halftime.

^^To be fair, that statement was made well before the ACC bed was shut. I would seriously doubt Doeren throws any criticism towards the fans this year after that shit show of a season last year. I hope he appreciates the support he does get this year, because it's hard to spend so much money and time and get hyped up for such a dissapointing prodcut.

That being said, I made my WPC donation and bought my season tickets this year and I'll be at every home game this season. I'm hoping for the best while holding no real expectations until next season.

I agree with Mike on that show.

I like the new helmets, but I think the Wolf eyes on a standard red helmet would have been a better addition to our regular helmet and probably not different enough to upset old school fans.

Meanwhile the full carbon fiber look with a red block S and white outlines would be a badass alternate.
