http://heatst.com/culture-wars/mizzou-students-on-campus-sunshine-sushi-logo-is-as-offensive-racist-as-a-swastika/

Quote :
"Sunshine Sushi’s logo resembles the “rising sun” of Imperial Japan.
Chinese- and Korean-American students demanded that the University get the logo changed."

Hyper-sensitive pussies win again! If the emotional psyche of the Mizzou student base is really this sensitive, I probably wouldn't want to go there either...

No wonder Trump was able to win the GOP nomination as a backlash to the PC social-justice attack on anything common sense....

Quote :
"mails reviewed exclusively by Heat Street and National Review show that soon after receiving an email complaining about the Sunshine Sushi logo, Mizzou’s administrators promptly met with 12 students from different Asian organizations on campus, facilitating a meeting with the restaurant’s owners.......

Oo Min Aung, the sushi restaurant’s co-owner, was born in Myanmar and marched in pro-democracy protests before immigrating to the United States. He tells Heat Street he chose a shining sun because “I wanted something that would symbolize the meaning of freedom, liberation.”"

Good thing Oo caved, we would hate for 12 pussies to walk around the student center offended on their false interpretation of a sushi restaurants sign.

Trump supporters who get mad having to press 1 for English are no different than students getting mad about a sunshine logo.

I am surprised English is allowed to be #1. I can see some SJW claim that this is discriminatory and offensive.

The sci-fi enthusiasts quickly found themselves in trouble with the school’s administrators because of their choice of food at the event. The students who organized the event purportedly chose to serve Mexican food at the party because “they hadn’t yet had Mexican food for one of these events” and couldn’t find any food that was “space-related.” "

Apparently serving mexican at a sci-fi event (that may show movies about space aliens) is NOT PC since it could touch on cultural sensitivities due to some mexicans being illegal allients.

Also crazy is insensitive to mentally challenged people

i wonder if theres more to the first story. i wonder if the group made the illegal alien connection on social media which led to them being shut down. otherwise, you're right, it sounds ridiculous.

as for the second story, this sort of thing is great because it forces everyone to expand their vocabulary. instead of calling something crazy, gay, lame,, girly, we are forced to choose a word that more eloquently and directly communicates our true feelings.

I plead guilty as well and would accept being called out on it. I completely removed gay from my arsenal years ago but still found mysellf calling a lot of things lame instead until i found out people were actually lame. Now its just a matter of habit. No one should get angry about it though. Using more appropriate words improves everything for everyone involved.

As long as we're sharing feelings about words, the term "binge watching" has always been annoying to me.

People have been privately binging on food, booze, and drugs for forever, and "binge" was a pretty useful word for them to communicate with one another quietly.

But now everybody's proudly announcing they binge watched a whole season of such-and-such in two days!!!!

And nobody's even doing the shameful binge-watching where you watch Lethal Weapons 1, 2, 3, and 4 back-to-back with more vinyl siding commercials than the actual movies (that you've seen 30 times anyway).

The true fans also watch the It's Always Sunny sequels as part of the binge.
