I feel like we've got a pretty solid, well-rounded class that will provide lots of depth (see the depth chart on the PP boards). Nothing flashy. It'd be nice to get a couple 4/5*s to round out the class. 1/10/2011 9:29:38 AM |

We needed big time special teams players and it looks like we might have them. Sade is going to be a baller. Like I said before, TOB's classes are not highly ranked on paper, but he does a pretty good job of picking out solid players. He's like the Billy Beane of football. 25 starters in the NC game were 2 or 3 star recruits out of high school. Conversely only 2 were 5 star recruits.

The "no weaknesses", followed by a laugh was pretty funny.
I think "inside the 40" meant from his perspective, so basically anything inside of a ~45 yarder.
I have a feeling that TOB will bring him in just to see if he can stretch him a little bit early on in the season against the cupcakes, and we'll see him boot a 55+ yarder like that Florida State kicker against Clemson this year. That was a fucking kick.

I don't think that's right. I think they can commit whenever they want, provided they have an offer. I don't think they can receive a formal offer until August 1st of their Senior Year of high school:
Quote : | "Prior to August 1 of a prospective student-athlete's senior year in high school, an institution shall not provide a written offer of athletically related financial aid or indicate in writing to the prospective student-athlete that an athletically related grant-in-aid will be offered by the institution. On or after August 1 of a prospective student-athlete's senior year in high school, an institution may indicate in writing to a prospective student-athlete that an athletically related grant-in-aid will be offered by the institution; however, the institution may not permit the prospective student-athlete to sign a form indicating his or her acceptance of such an award before the initial signing date in that sport in the National Letter of Intent program. (Revised: 4/29/10 effective 8/1/10) " |
They can give a verbal offer, where the school says "we want you to come here and you have an offer" and they can accept a commitment. Remember, Chris Leak was committed to Wake Forest when he was in 9th grade.
