ugh, this hand is seriously going to make me hate poker for a little while. it makes me sick that this idiot won this hand. i know, i didn't exactly have him dominated. and that's why i made the ridiculously high bet on the turn, so he might realize his hand was crap.

i guess after a check-call on the flop when he was faced with 3 raises, i should have put him on "complete dumbass". lesson learned...

i know, i know... no need to lecture me. just an easy way to waste away an evening and attempt to clear a bonus as the same time.

i just had to vent a little bit. and i'm trying to use it as a lesson after cooling off. i made that turn bet expecting him to fold his draw, which was a mistake. after his insane call after the flop i should have realized he wasn't going anywhere and adjusted accordingly...

at that level you cant give any opponent credit where they are good enough to fold any type of draw for any type of bet

i understand. i really did mean to post it in a sort of 50/50, pissed off/possible lesson type hand. not all of us play at Turner's stakes, so idiot mentality is a useful lesson as well...

but i'm sure in my pissed off state it probably came off as more of a "bad beat/crying" post... if so, I apologize.

If his hand was face up, and you knew exactly what he was going to do for whatever size bet you made, the optimal play would be to bet exactly how you did. You just gotta learn to roll with the punches, brotha.

So I found a juicy tourney tonight on a site I've been playing.

$50 buy in w/ $500 added to the prize pool.

We only started with 22 people so that was a sweet pool, paying $700 for first! I patiently folded the first 3 levels until I finally picked up KK in the cut off. It folds around to me so I limp knowing that the SB is likely to raise w/ any 2 cards. Sure enough the SB raises 200 to 300, I go into the tank for a couple seconds and come over top for 900 more. He insta calls w/ Q5s. Q on the flop and a 5 on the river. I'm out in 13th place on my first hand played.

The main highlight is 5th street where the genius with [Qs 3h Tc] showing caps the betting, putting both of his opponents essentially all in. Then he somehow wins with a running 9 when both of them double brick with 8 draws. Great stuff.

A couple hands later I took a huge pot off him where he capped with me on 6th while drawing dead. Then he even lead out on 7th, giving me two more bets.
