Still amazed that people are paying upwards of $350 on ebay for these things (with shipping). Until that stops/slows down they wont be in stores. There are plenty of nerds with connections to local stores, or extra time on their hands willing to buy and resell, and at $100 dollars a pop, its not a bad gig. I think if nintendo had priced this thing at $299 to start there wouldn't be as many supply issues. Some are saying that its going to be at least 6 more months until they get it all figured out....but that puts you into X-mas season again, where I am sure it will be "tickle me elmo" for a 3rd xmas in a row!

Picked up Okami yesterday, since I missed it on PS2.

It's fun, the cel-shaded graphics give it a nice look. Sound is a mixed bag--the music is awesome, but the "voice" sound effects when people are talking are fucking awful. Controls are also mixed--the use of the Wii remote for painting is generally done well, but trying to draw a straight line for the Power Slash is hit-or-miss, and the camera controls suck.

overall, I'd say yes (if you didn't play the original)...despite the annoyances, it did manage to draw me in

It comes off as a solid adventure game that could've been really great if they had just taken care of some minor issues.

What're everyone's thoughts on Mario Galaxy? I just bought it this weekend, and it's hella fun. It can be somewhat frustrating at parts, but overall it's not too difficult and I'm advancing through the levels relatively quickly. But my favorite part of it all is the sound track, the music is absolutely amazing.

Not sure if this has been discussed but do you really need the plastic wheel for Mario Kart?

I did okay with the Wii remote sideways for the horse racing game in Wii Sports so maybe you don't need it.

I just can't see spending $15 for a cheap circle of plastic.

Mario Kart Wii can be played with the Wii Remote, Gamecube controller, Wii Remote+nunchuk, or classic controller. Wii Wheel itself is completely unnecessary to play the game.

B) Drive on the road and obey regular traffic laws

i played world tour all the way through on drums by myself to unlock all the songs. now if i play i just do quickplay.

i have a technical question and couldn't find much help online.

we recently got component cables for our hdtv, and after switching to 480p, realized that almost every game looked worse. is there any kind of setting we should adjust to make it look better, or just settle with 480i?

sorry man i'm no help. my 480 hookup looks great, but then again my tv is a pre-hd flat screen. somehow it looks great.

but i think 480i may be your way to go.

It might just be your TV... I got component cables back when Galaxy came out and I noticed a difference (for the better) instantly.

This might seem stupid but it is relevant. Make sure you got the right cables in the right sockets. If you mix up the two red component cables, it skews the colors on the screen a bit. Also, were the cables cheap or pricey? I once but a $20 HDMI cable (versus a $100 one) for my PS3, and it was absolutely awful.
