and it's disturbing that if i don't like a pretentious, preachy, low-budget gak fest in subtitles then "I'sa must be's sum dumb rednek"

as bad as it was, it still wasn't as bad as "Zhou Yu's Train"


overall i just couldn't get into it. maybe it's because the acting was subpar and the story was sorta trite. maybe it's because asians don't have souls and thus can't put much energy into their character. maybe it's because it just didn't draw out any emotion from me.

but it sure as hell wasn't because there weren't manly explosions and it had nothing to do with there being "words at the bottom of the screen" you fucking hipster small screen douchebags

For the most part, they're all about peasant life. It's not particularly thrilling, but I'd be hard-pressed to find a movie with more feeling over the course of so much Chinese history.
