I was just called for Jury duty in february. It was 2 days. There was a woman who owned a flower shop who was beside herself because she had to close the shop while she was on jury duty. The clerk of the court did not mention any such exemption and told her that there was nothing that could be done.

Maybe the rules are different in SC.

I also served on Jury Duty 2 months ago and anyone who had an issue was able to speak to the judge about their issue. I did not see a single person's request for a deferral denied.
