LOL i know right? i feel the same way. i would rather BUY, not RENT, the dress for that kind of money. sheesh!

I kinda agree, the most I would spend to rent a dress would be $75. And it would have to be really nice. I just thought I'd ask if anyone had done it. It's catering to people who want designer labels, that's all.

The dresses in the $200 to rent range are typically in the $2k-3k retail price.

The website talks about cutting a deal for bridesmaid dresses. That wouldn't be too shabby of a deal. It's possible that if you keep watching the site, you could possibly rent a bridal dress for that amount of money (if you weren't being a traditional stuffy person). Granted, the styles that are out now would NOT be appropriate, but... just saying!

but if you watch sales (even places like belk carry some high end things now) and websites like hautelook etc and with ebay and amazon you can find designer (i mean prob not the 2k - 3k designer dresses, though saks does have some decent sales, i just don't buy stuff in that price range obvi haha) things for cheap.

it is so hard though but i've started buying like...the season after or ahead or whatever. like i bought several summer things this fall that were on clearance and got excellent deals. i guess if you need something right away you can't do that. plus it isn't very gratifying. luckily some of the things i have gotten i can use for winter w/ layering.

http://www.ruelala.com/invite/kcadwallader

(you need an invite and have to register for the site - it is free, that link should allow you to register, then you can get to the hanky panky sale)

i completely agree. now i can't say that i'm not a sucker for some designer stuff, but at the same time, it just seems kinda silly to pay so much for something you will wear once maybe? at least if you spent $200 on a dress, you could wear it as many times as you'd like and then sell if on ebay or to a consignment shop or something. profit off of it more!

urban outfitters has free shipping (code FREEBIRD) on orders over $75 through 11/30 at midnight

there are some decent things in the sale section if you are willing to dig through! i got a dress and 2 pairs of shoes (whoops). let me show youuuu.

so i already have these boots in tan and grey and i really like them so i ordered the black before my size went away:

and these shoes were 9.99 and i kind of like them but i wasn't really sure, if they weren't 9.99 then i wouldn't have ordered them but i think they are kinda funky:

annnnd then i got this dress (19.99!):

LOVE this dress from Express. Tried it on Black Friday when there was a 20% off sale, but it still would've cost too much. The color was GORGEOUS and so was the shape.

http://www.express.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=22957&parentCategoryId=2&categoryId=22&subCategoryId=22

also love this one but it was too short for me I'm a modest little pea!! also it's expensive I tried it on in dark red.

damnnn girl, those are some sexy little numbers!!!!

you should get one!

(the more i look at my snake shoes the more excited i am about them. i think with the right outfit - obviously a plainer outfit like a black dress or something, they will be a good accent!)

the dress is $300, so no way to buy it for fun. It also comes in black but I think I like the mauve better. Its made by karen millen which i have decided I really love, all her dresses are that good.

wore a dress in high school that was almost a completely open back, high neck in the front, but dipped down really low.

^ I went to the smaller version of the thrift store.. It's at Interact, called "Pass It On, Too" and it's in the very front. Apparently the big one (Pass It On) is in Fuquay and has tonsssss of stuff

I'm gonna go there sometime soon and do Christmas shopping. A lot of stores and people will donate brand new stuff. (I'm pretty sure my Ann Taylor cardigan was brand new, AND the J Crew one Last time one of my shirts still had the tags)

^ what did you expect it to be? we can make it into something else!

i agree with miska below - i <3 this thread

we can do more period talk

i'm interested in trying this:

i always thought midol was kind of pussy. extra strength tylenol or motrin works better. but excedrin is a legit painkiller (for headaches anyway it has worked for me) so i'd be interested to see how the period excedrin is. HOWEVER excedrin has caffeine i think and i thought that was bad for periods. hmmm.
