broke the record for a single tornado outbreak:

Quote :
"The most extensive tornado outbreak on record, in almost every category, was the Super Outbreak, which affected a large area of the central United States and extreme southern Ontario in Canada on April 3 and April 4, 1974. Not only did this outbreak feature an incredible 148 tornadoes in only 18 hours, but an unprecedented number of them were violent; 6 were of F5 intensity and 24 were F4. This outbreak had a staggering 16 tornadoes on the ground at the same time at the peak of the outbreak. More than 300 people, possibly as many as 330, were killed by tornadoes during this outbreak. However, this record was later broken during the April 25–28, 2011 tornado outbreak, which resulted in 320+ casualties and had 359 tornadoes touch down"

Wow. I hope she makes it. And I hope her parents are okay. If they are alive they are probably terrified.

Looking at the direction of movement from the storms in Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia...tomorrow could be a very interesting day for NC.

Bham is doing ok, but I know multiple places have been hit... Right now it's thundering like crazy and the bottom dropped out, the wind is pretty insane. I'm mainly worried about straight winds and the trees around my house at this point, but I think after midnight we're supposed to be in the clear

dang.

my people in nashville said they are cool but one saw it over them when it was about to come down or pulling up, apparently they had to drive 90 to outrun it and hide in a wal mart bathroom

There was a bad one near Nashville. Ky border, Chattanooga, and tellico plains got it bad near me. So far no deaths in tn.

that hail is nuts. we had 2" hail and a bunch of small branches and things come down. one of my house windows got busted out and my roommate's car got beaten up. Kiwi's experience was about the same as mine. Weather was looking gross, but people just wandered around like it was no big deal. When the tornado sirens started up and the wind was whipping, then it got a little more frantic

wakes up up and then I spend the whole time calming her down

she's lying back down right now and I'm waiting for the next batch to hit
