So I have a dress like this...but the metallic stitching is a little less flashy

Do you think a bolero like this would work?

i think it'd work... definitely the style - not sure about fabrics (but i'm really weird about fabric coordination)

Yea the dress is a jacquard and the bolero is satin...but it's only $28!!!!

I have issues about fabric combos too...but it's really dressy so I figured it could work

I just ordered it and got 25% off which covered the shipping and made it $1 cheaper

I can always send it back if it doesn't work!

Holiday party

Maybe even to wear for new years to make next year a good one lol

I have had that dress for a year now and I have 2 parties to go to. Just want something to make it a lil different so people won't remember it. I'm recycling haha.

I may wear a wild color shoe with it....OR I'm tempted to rock a bootie because I'm wearing opaque tights with it.

Oh LADIES

If you take in a gently worn pair of shoes to SoHo (crabtree..not sure about southpoint), you'll get 10% off a new pair of shoes. You get 10% for each pair you bring in, or at least that's what the sales girl/my friend told me!!!

They just got some reaaaally cute stuff in too. Supposed to get more boots in by the end of the week.

My friend said that she was wearing a short satin cocktail dress for New Year's - we booked a lot of hotel rooms in downtown Raleigh and plan on hanging out there...

Now I have no idea what to wear though because I was planning on jeans and comfy shoes damnit. lol

^ Then make your upcoming jewelry/accessories party a dress swap too!

I wish I could wear a sexy dress for New Year's Eve, but I'll be at the Avett Brothers show in Asheville (it'll be awesome though). I just have this cute LBD that I haven't worn yet bc it makes me look like a prostitute. But you can wear anything on NYE or in Vegas, so I was saving it for one of those occasions. She'll have to wait until Vegas :

so I've ran across alot of guys who like alot of different things, but the one thing I have not run across was a guy who liked going down during periods. A friend's SO does this and I'm kinda amazed... to me, it seems kind of up there in the nasty shit I would not do list.

i hear that it helps cramps, which i'm inclined to believe, but i can't imagine letting someone down there then

different strokes for different folks, i guess!

im not sure if this topic has been discussed but i need some help

spray tanning... whats is the consensus out there?

i am 100% against using a tanning bed and my skin is very difficult to tan in the sun anyway. i end up burning no matter how much sunscreen i use, or i get no tan at all. also its december so im not going to tan outdoors anyway

i am going to hawaii for new years to visit the bf for a week and will be in a bikini almost the whole time. im extremely fair skinned but i've lost around 15lbs in the last year so its not completely hideous being so pale. i'd like to get a spray tan, if nothing else just to take the transparency out of my skin. im not expecting to be golden brown, i just dont want to look so stark.

how long do spray tans last? what do i need to know before i show up? i found a place near my house that does it for $10 a session. i guess the kind of things i want to know are, what do i do with my hair? do i need to shave my legs and exfoliate hardcore before going? what about my feet? the soles are a little rough and i dont want it pooling there and being darker. what about in between my fingers?

bascially all the newbie stuff. i've never even stepped foot into a tanning salon so i have no idea what to expect from a spray tan. would like a primer on it before i go in and do it.

I did a mystic tan where you get in a booth and it sprays you over the summer. They give you a hair net thing to cover your hair, and you rub lotion on your hands and feet to keep them from getting extra dark. You take off your clothes, get in, turn it on and it sprays you, then you rub yourself down with a towel to rub off the extra and make sure it's even.

It looked really good the day after I got it done. Then the next day my arms looked weird and splotchy. Then the next day it mostly evened out again. I am not sure why that happened. I think they are supposed to last for up to a week.

I know some people who have had good luck with the kind where you have a person spray you and rub it on for you, but I'm guessing for $10 that isn't what your place is offering because I think that's pricier.

I'd probably just go with the do-it-yourself lotion stuff that gradually builds color and have your bf or someone help apply it evenly.

I remember liking the Neutrogena Build-a-Tan stuff

Though I just looked it up and reviews are not so hot. Maybe it's not a good idea to recommend specific products like this because everyone's skin takes it differently. It looked more natural than other kinds on me, but a lot of reviews say it's more orange.

[Edited on December 10, 2009 at 1:59 PM. Reason : you should probably just experiment I guess]

I was gonna say, I've heard good things about Neutrogena and Nivea.

Also I just went back to the lucky magazine site because I remembered this stuff by Lancome that I read about. Why did I remember? I have no clue because clearly I don't need self-tanner but like once a month out of the year

This is supposed to be amazing so says readers.

So far we have 6 yes responses and 2 maybes. Plenty of room left.

I also have a lot of decor that I am getting rid of and BOOKS!

alright, need Christmas party advice... should I wear:

a black and white dress with a cute black blazer? (and maybe some fun tights and heels)

nice black slacks with a cream colored cashmere sweater?

any other ideas? :\ it's definitely not a casual party but not as dressy as last time so I am stuck

What time is the wedding? Rules still apply no matter what the season. Usually your fabrics/colors are what will change.
