Has anyone tried the new Harvest Moon? It came out over a week ago, and haven't heard anything. Most sites don't even have reviews up for it for some reason.

Well, I thought it came out a while ago, but now i'm seeing conflicting information

apparently it comes out in three days, so nevermind

My lady has been playing harvest moon for the wii like crazy for the past few weeks (jp version) and loves it. I don't see why it's fun, but I guess if you like that kind of game it's fun.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time announced

interesting. I expect a dungeon crawler instead of that life-sim shit on WiiWare.

A remake of the PS1 Klonoa game was also announced

^^hopefully they can increase the limit from 2 gig cards. I don't know how feasible SDHC cards are. Would that require more hardware or could a firmware update allow them?

Nevermind, I thought it meant you could play off the SD cards. Downloading directly to the SD card is not a solution.

The move from regular SD to SDHC would require new hardware. So that's something they could easily fix in new versions of the Wii, but anyone with a current console would be screwed.

And it's a better solution than nothing. It allows for DLC in games like Rock Band 2 and it allows you to infinitely grow your storage space for a low price. Although the 2 GB limit does suck. I've got 10+ GB of songs for Rock Band on my 360. And part of the joy is being able to load up RB2 and have a list of over 300 songs to choose from right there on the fly. Wii owners won't have that luxury.

I don't see why anybody would buy multiplatform games for the wii, like rockband, when the 360 is way better in storage, controls and graphics. Not to mention now the xbox is cheaper than the wii.

I gave up waiting on their solution. I just use the homebrew channel now.

Well I can't either if they have both. But I know tons of people that only have a Wii and not a 360.

The 360 version that is cheaper than the wii is not better, storage wise, than the wii.

I mean...is still is a ridiculous name. It's just that we've all gotten so used to it now, it seems ok.

But revolution would have been better.

Punch-Out was always kiddy anyway. I just hope they don't dumb it down for the mainstream.

They can lessen the number of punches you can throw and your options for dodging attacks. They can also lower the difficulty.

Lessen the number of punches? Super Punch-Out only had like six types...

Anyway, I'm pumped about a new Punch-Out game, it is about damn time. I was hoping for one ever since I played Wii boxing. I'm glad they threw in the original music and put some notable characters like King Hippo and Von Kaiser in there. And were those croissants flying around when Glass Joe got knocked out?

seriously. really only 4 punches i though, dodge left/right, block. difficulty could be lowered but that isnt "dumbing it down" really.

Super Punch-Out has four regular punches and four special punches. I'm looking forward to the game, I just hope the difficulty stays intact. I'm more worried about them "softening" the game than "dumbing it down", but whatever.

8 punches in the Super Punch-Out? I know of the four main ones (left and right regular, left and right uppercut) and the special uppercut and special regular... what two am I missing?

I wonder if they'll be the "secret" way to defeat each opponent like in SPO...I loved beating the very last guy in like 11 seconds

Ah, I guess... I just never really used them. Glass Joe was the only one who wouldn't start blocking them after the first few so the super one was the only one I ever used.

not sure how many people use their wii for video playback but mplayer just had v6.0 released on the 3rd, usb flash drives now run pretty seamlessly and look better than videos off the SD card imo, plus you can get above 2GB!!!!!

Too many good games came out for the SNES for one to be able to play them all during its lifetime.

^It's an RPG for the SNES. Some people rank it up there with Chrono Trigger in terms of quality. I barely ever played it, but it has been on my list of games to play (with about 50 other games).

mplayer wii is the shit, lets you play videos on the wii. http://ronwarez.com/mplayerwii/

also anyone who hasnt used the twilight hack DO NOT do the new system update, all it does is disable this bug so that new people cannot utilize the twilight hack, if you already have homebrew channel you don't have to worry. http://arstechnica.com/journals/thumbs.ars/2008/06/17/latest-wii-update-bad-news-for-homebrew

The homebrew genisis emulator works pretty good. Anyone got the n64 one working smoothly? It says its in early stages so it just might not be workable yet, i tried mario 64 on it and it was looking pretty rough.

Sorry Nacho, the newest version of the Homebrew Channel just proved you wrong.

It's more likely a licensing issue since it is just a driver they have to implement. They also may just be waiting to milk the system some more.
