one reporter did ask him if he thought he could return to the final four next year like butler did, even though if you had asked that about butler a year ago they might think you were crazy, and he said he could certainly see it happening again but that it was hard...pretty neutral answer

I know I'm gonna annoy everybody or whatever, but I've wanted to talk about this for a long time. Does anybody talk about Personal Fouls and all the horrible stuff that happened to Valvano? People know that we didn't just randomly start sucking, right?

I feel like so many people are so ashamed of how they treated Valvano that now nobody will talk about what happened. So there's just like this void in our history. I've had a lot of conversations with people where I'm like, "Well, you know what happened to Valvano, right?" And they nod, and then I realize they're thinking about the cancer.

One man took the licks for the entirety of big time college basketball. We need to have a proper reckoning on this matter. I feel haunted.

I think a fair majority of ST posters are at least somewhat educated on that subject, and probably most would already have no problem claiming it has a lot to do with our struggles in the last 20 years. I personally don't like to lean on that as an excuse, but I will happily cite it when the opportunity to tell UNC to fuck off arises
