not to venture too much into "this shit is real territory," but how could the cylons be stretched thin? just manufacture more 10/15/2006 9:55:19 PM |

Cylons are presumably made from materials mined from other planets, etc.
So if they ran out of something, well, that'd be it for them.

You dont actually know how they are built, and if they can even be made that quickly. Dont even know if there isnt a finite amount of them. It all depends on how they were made before they came back. They might not even know how to make more of themselves. That gives a reason why impregnating a human is so important to them. 10/15/2006 9:58:01 PM |

I've also been wondering about the quantity of Terminator Cylons. Anyone remember seeing how many there were on the Resurrection Ship? Tons. And why has there been no mention of a Resurrection Ship on New Caprica? I guess the Cylons must have just ground-based the technology this time, huh? It certainly must not take too long to be resurrected since Leoben just keeps on coming back to Starbuck day after day. 10/16/2006 1:15:26 PM |
StillFuchsia All American 18941 Posts user info edit post |
Yeah, that's why I'm thinking there must still be production- there are [were] so many models on the Resurrection ship that I doubt they all just spontaneously appeared. But hey, maybe they're just recycling the dead ones sometimes, too. 10/16/2006 2:24:21 PM |

i wonder if more Cylons are being produced. Like are they making any with brand new personalities. Or if they're trying to produce a 13th model...Perhaps the reason they're trying to bread so much is they can't get create new personalities any more 10/16/2006 2:29:41 PM |

^ I think you are talking about the model that was introduced at the fertilization clinic, when they took Starbuck's ovaries. He was the doctor that kept checking up on Starbuck while she was hospitalized. He is a Cylon, I don't know why they don't show him much. 10/16/2006 3:58:04 PM |

Did ya see him kill his wife, did ya see that fighting, did ya see Baltars face when he was going to kill. I couldnt have asked for anything more.
And Starbuck, and one-eye, they have major issues now.....major. 10/21/2006 1:04:33 AM |

I completely agree.
This is easily the best show on TV... I'm wondering where they go from here though.
I can't see them doing the same-old fighting with Cylon thing. I hope they resume the mythology aspect of the story line.10/21/2006 4:11:52 AM |

Anyone have predictions about how long the series can go without getting redundant. As in, it becomes sorta the same shit over and over now that they are back to a mobile fleet.
I am gonna go with 1 more season after 3 before something drastic happens. 10/24/2006 8:43:39 PM |

Welllllllllll... let's just say that a trace of the 13th colony - with interesting consequences - is coming very soon. I think that'll have a big impact on the way this season ends. I can definitely see it being exciting for at least one more season.
However, has anyone started to see some comparisons with Star Trek Voyager? Most notably, exactly how badly can the Galactica get beat up and continue to function nominally? It drove me crazy in this last episode how it was getting dogpiled, but appeared perfectly fine by the end. 10/24/2006 8:51:01 PM |

Yea, you never see how bad it actually is on the outside. Only thing you see is that its returned to normal on the inside. THANK GOD FOR THE MUSTASH SHAVING!
What I really wanna see is the population number. AND if they stay in the fleet for any length of time, and the population does increase....wear the hell are they going to stay. You have a fixed volume of living space.
And how do they keep reparing everything??? Is there some sort of factory on BSG that can produce things to repair itself in case it had to fight for a long time without getting back to a base/shipyard?

I never hear them talk about shields in the show, but during fights everything just explodes around Galactica without leaving any noticeable damage to the hull but when a Base Star gets it crap starts flying off of it

I just say this last episode and holy cow, it was as great as everyone here as said it was. I cannot believe the Cylons did recover Herra after all. That is going to be interesting to see how or if Roslin tells Sharon that the Cylons have her again. If they ever find out she's alive.
Whatda think Sharon would do? Join the toasters since Lucy Lawless' model wasnt lying after all? Or plan a rescue mission...again... to save her daughter?
And I think personally, since I'm not a genuis like these writers, I would say they find/locate Earth by a Season 5. You cant have 5+ seasons all is space, can you?
Awesome season so far. That planet jump/entry was FANTASTIC. 10/25/2006 4:57:32 PM |
