Stick with that. Probably the novel concept ever introduced in Sports Talk.

I'm not quite sure why people think we're going to be awful...

Atsur, Fells, Grant, and Costner should provide a pretty solid group. McCauley showed some great moves last year--he's not Ced, but he could be decent at the 5-spot. Bench is shallow--just Horner and Lewandowski until the end of December, then Ferguson is available...Degand and Harris may be eligible depending on what the NCAA decides.

Even if we just have 7-8 players, frankly, that's what most teams play anyway. The only issues would be injuries or foul trouble.

This squad definitely has potential. We'll just have to wait and see how things go.

Our top 5 are pretty good. We really need Horner and Ferguson to step up... and hope to God that Degand gets cleared.

we are just soft in the middle, witch usually spells disaster in the ACC

McCauley probably won't be a defensive force, but the guy has some amazing footwork on offense. I'll be interested in seeing how he's developed since last season (in particular, finishing once he gets to the basket).

Really interested in seeing Costner out there, too.

What's funny about page 10 is that Walt Sobchak was a Herb hater and wanted him gone IIRC. This is what YOU PEOPLE wanted. Don't get mad now, Herb is gone, this is what you wanted.
The only thing I fault Sidney on is not going after McMillan more, and now that he missed out on Wright, he probably regrets it.

That said please to get Hickson here!

Trust me I am not a Herb hater, and this is def. not what I wanted. I support the team and I hope Sid pulls in Hickson. I was just making a point with my earlier post. It seemed to me that everyone was a little too warm and fuzzy, thats all.

Our roster:

Quote :
"2007/2008
Seniors:
1 Gavin Grant

Juniors:
2 Courtney Fells
3 Ben McCauley

Sophomores:
4 Brandon Costner – (medical redshirt)
5 Trevor Ferguson
6 Dennis Horner
7 Bartosz Lewandowski
8 Farnold Degand (xfer redshirt)

Freshmen:
9 Johnny Thomas
10 JJ Hickson"

Three scholarships left--Smith and Warren probably take two of them, no idea on Rashad Green's status.

we certainly have a young team in retrospect.

I like that though, gives us time to build and change our system as Lowe takes over.

I like the chances Gavin has this year, he could be a sleeper in the ACC.

Man when they came in I used to think when these guys are Seniors, Ced, Grant, and Brackman, we will be the best in the ACC with the 3 good freshmen following them in Fells, Costner, and Ben. Now we only have 1 left.

Gavin will be the man. I have confidence that sid will give Gavin the OK to be nasty. He won't have to sign a permission slip to dunk the ball.

Gotta love how herb's players did better as freshmen when they didn't have to think about his stupid fucking offense.

We all thought the same thing with Hodge, Watkins, Collins, and Powell.

It never happened....which was a recurring theme

lovelyyyyyyyyyyyyy

sounds like a good prospect for our new offense as well, he looks like bethel a little, the thing I like though is where it says he can get into the lane, that would be lovely for once.

Id love for us to get him.

Warren has had us at high since Wright chose Georgetown. But I think with Hickson committing we'll likely get him and/or Tracy Smith.

We have a good looking future on recruiting, but coaching is completely different. Sidney Lowe will no doubt be able to rack in some good recruits..and even better if the program gets better

Does that mean Tracy Smith can now sign in the early signing period? That would be sweet! A class of

C/PF JJ Hickson
PF Tracy Smith
SF Johnny Thomas
PG/SG Chris Warren

would be incredible for Lowe considering he started late. Even better if CJ Williams commits here for 2008 class too. Very good news.

What are these rumors I'm hearing of Chris Allen (Mich St commit) being interested in State? Something like he plays with JJ Hickson in AAU ball and well, Mich St has a higher ranked SG than him in the same class so it seems very probable that this may be true. I sure hope so. We could use another shooter/slasher/scorer on the team that can also play the point.

Better than some of the sub 900 scores some players have at some other high major schools(maybe even this one too).
