meh, none of those doing it for me.

what are some of the more fun dlc's for drums? Sometimes the songs I think will be good for drums turn out not to be, want to make sure its good before I spend.

well, my guitar finally started fucking up. down strokes don't work anymore. i'll probably take it apart and see if its a quick fix before i send it off. i've got a bunch of microswitches lying around from when i used to airsmith paintball maybe i'll see if i can jury rig something better up.

I just went ahead and got an extra Guitar Hero controller anyway. I do like the fender one that shipped with Rock Band, it just isn't as "accurate" as the Guitar Hero ones, especially with hammer-ons and pull-offs.

^Pretty awesome but it would probably cost just as much as the special edition bundle.

I might have to look through the catalog of downloadable songs and see if anything catches my eye.

And however many ^, ussjbroli, care to help a buddy out if you figure out how to fix your's? Haha. Mine is just in the start of the messing up phase but it's already getting on my nerves.

Can you download songs with only the silver xbox live thingy?

Basically, I don't pay every month for Xbox Live. Can I still pay for these songs?

I would assume so. If you have access to Xbox Live Marketplace, I'm sure they would love to sell things to you.

haven't posted here in awhile

guitar starting to crap out, partly bc the guitarist in my band always mashes the strum bar after missing an overdrive section out of frustration.

for the expert drummers, i found out that switching the pedal to the lower grooves (the setting that the instructions recommended for short ppl) helps out a lot in the songs with a lot of bass notes. but it makes a lot of racket bc it doesn't fit very securely (on a hardwood floor).

top 100 career score, ps3 platform

my bro and I got a top 500 band ranking after just 4 days of playing (him on guitar, me on drums)

kind of sucks how few fans you can get before having to play expert, especially considering how hard some of the drums are on expert (hell, Run to the Hills on hard is a bitch)

i'm hoping someone makes a double-kick pedal...that would make it so much better for playing some of those off-beat notes

I can't play with the bass drum pedal attached to the bottom pole of the drums, I find the position to be way awkward to the point where it makes my leg ache. I usually have to put it off to the side and prop a chair in front of it so it doesn't slide.

i don't know if it's "proper" form or not, but I don't sit square to the drum kit...the green pad is behind my right shoulder, which points at the blue pad...in other words, my shoulders are squared to an imaginary line running between the red and blue pads...this puts the bass pedal in a much more comfortable position, at least for me

Don't know if this is new, but gamestop is taking pre-orders for the stage kit for rock band. Lights and smoke that keeps up to the beat for only 100 bucks. What is next, cut outs of 40 year old groupie whores with true to life mouth herpes?

^^that's so stupid... unless you were on drugs, in which case it could be cool.

run to the hills is harder on hard than on expert. i got through hard just playing continuous 16th notes, the way it is on expert. need to 5 star it through practice mode eventually, but i hate that song now.

forgot to mention something about top scores on expert drums. i was wondering how ppl were getting higher scores than me after finishing songs with 100% completion, so i looked it up and found:
http://rockband.scorehero.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2709&highlight=&sid=399dad67fcab8cdc944896d4f4879b6f

i've already been playing the ending cymbal with a bass note, but there are still several ppl with higher scores. i guess i need to play the ending cymbal with a flam tap, which is pretty lame.

a double bass pedal would be nice to have. my yellow pad is really starting to crap out, which is making things very frustrating. I'll probably send back the set again soon. My biggest issue is that I don't have a comfortable chair to play the drums with. I'm thinking I'll end up going to a music store to buy a drum seat, and just pretend like I'm going to use it with my new real drums or something.

heh, i'm glad i have a drum seat. not much body movement involved with 4 pads, but it's still nice to have.

so today, i tried the flam tap ending cymbal + bass on the garbage song, but i'm still only top 200 after 100% completion. i dunno if i have to hit hold the sticks sideways and hit all the notes or what, but that's just stupid point whoring. i'm in top 10 for creep, but i'm still not exactly sure how this point "squeezing" works. i'll try to figure it out later this week.

after a week of play, my yellow pad started to rattle after each hit. kinda annoying, but the set itself hasn't broken yet, so i guess i'm content. i need to mod the bass pedal eventually though. it just frustratingly sucks.

on songs with a lot of fast notes i've started flipping the drumsticks over and using the other end to cover more surface space(saw guy doing it on youtube)

seems to work fairly well and registering notes better.. not sure if it is really helping or if i'm just telling myself that.

that's some drumline shit there. with a toy kit with little rebound on the pads, i say go with whatever works.

oasis pack and a progressive pack coming this month:

well i just start the song w/ them flipped and play it that way the whole way through, i wish i could do it halfway like that.. it would be about as badass as you can get playing a toy but i'm not that good. it def. does register a lot better though, so on the harder songs at higher levels it is worth giving a shot.

Anyone here a subscriber to OXM and getting the new songs? I'll pay to borrow the disc and grab the songs. They're charging like 8 bucks a magazine. Bullshit.

I had to update to the new DirectX, and it worked fine; though I had to reinstall after the update. Did the comp recognize your drumkit and install the driver automatically?

I'm actually downloading more sounds -- hoping for that Phil Collins "In the Air Tonight" drum sound!

yeah man. Plug 'em in first and install the driver so that the drums are recognized by Windows (it's the Xbox remote driver that allows you to use your controller on PC games). Once that's set-up, run the DirectX update. And then install homeboy's software. You should be gold from there.

So what is the deal with buying the drums/mic individually? I gamefly'd it just for the guitar parts but I'm thinking about keeping it if I can get the drums/mic for a decent price.

they won't be out till at least the end of the month. I'm pretty sure the announced prices were $100 for the drums and $30 for the mic.
