the beta has been quite enjoyable to play, even with the limited content. patches that change the game as far as difficulty, crafting, available skills, runes, etc have made every play through pretty sweet.

I had watched multiple play-throughs before I got in. Didn't reduce my fun though.

I will say though, after playing the beta with a 2+ people, I can't really see myself wanting to play this game solo. It is just a different experience with more than 1 person.

On a side note, you don't have to *click* a billion times to spam an ability, you can just click and hold and move your mouse and it keeps casting.

We expect this system will encourage players to stick with a skill build of their choice, select an area of the game they enjoy, and sweep it for rare and champion packs on their way to a boss, finishing off a run with a boss that’ll be worth killing. If you wanted a shorter play session you could be done at that point, but if you have more time, the path of least resistance would ideally be to stay in the same game and make your way towards the next boss."

Barb is pretty much the same from D2, aside from being more badass.
Demon Hunter think Amazon + Assassin traps
Witch Doctor plays quite a lot like a Necromancer.
Wizard = Mage
Monk is probably the only one that's a bit different. It's like a melee paladin with the quickness and mobility of an Assassin.

I'm definitely playing wizard.

I always enjoyed my summoner necromancer probably because it was easy mode. Just get your army built then walk around and wait for them to finish killing stuff. Only annoying thing was physical immunes and walking around a corner to gloams that instantly lightning bolted you into hell.

That was my least favorite part of Hell difficulty; some mobs you just cannot defeat. Tri-immune, physical immune champions is horseshit.

Didn't D2 do this? I remember holding the mouse and spamming skills. It's been a while but I'm pretty sure it would spam attacks provided you had something targeted or were holding down the shift key.

I remember holding down shift but I did a lot of melee paladin pvp and would cycle through 6-7 different skills. Also, the paladin was the best at single target ownage. You had all types of elemental attacks as well as physical so no mob was fully immune to you. I'm hoping to recapture the paladin class with the monk.

monks are very bad ass, but my level 8 dh does WAY more damage than my 13 monk and that saddens me greatly.

when they bring back arenas I think monks are going to dominate tho ... aoe pulls, rebirth, mass slow cc.

if they can stay alive monks are going to control pvp

Apparently that shit is just a Mooege server and all you can do is use basic skillz. DOWNLOADING DIABLO II and LOD and i'm probably gonna play on the /vidya/ server even though I somehow have legit keys attached to my battle.net account even though battle.net key authenticity didn't exist as it does now since the last time i played Diablo 2 in like 2002

Yeah sure its nice to jump in bot games to level up quick in hell and see if you can grab some good stuff for alts, but damn if it didnt ruin that game pretty quickly when rare stuff just wasnt that rare anymore.

I've been looking forward to Diablo 3 if for nothing else than the fact by now all those problems should be taken care of. Unless of course they go the way of WoW and start making it super easy for people who suck to get awesome stuff without having to do much to earn it other than play a bunch. I suppose that's what the AH is basically for though.
