^^do you mean just a reset as in restarting/clearing cache type of thing? or a complete return to factory settings/wiping?
if it's the first, then holding the power button for like 10 or so seconds should do the trick.
you could also disconnect & unplug everything for like 30 seconds as well.

My uverse installation was scheduled for today between 8-10a. At 10:15 no one had shown up so I called at&t to find out what was up. Apparently they had a technician come out to test the location yesterday, determined that we were too far away & canceled the installation. No one called me, my girlfriend was even inside the house & they didn't bother to tell her either.
I am not pleased. 6/27/2009 10:33:06 AM |

If it is your first bill then remember that it covers more than one month (to get you on a standard billing cycle. My first bill was like $170 to cover the first couple weeks prior to the full billing cycle, but my normal bill is $120 6/28/2009 2:12:32 PM |

it's my second bill. they also fucked up the first one, but I got that straightened out quickly. however, on this bill, they have the first bill + this bill (even though I paid and they cashed the check), plus a late fee already, plus a HD service charge, which we are supposed to have for free for one year. 6/28/2009 2:27:23 PM |

god I love Uverses CS. Called this morning and the guy didn't even hesitate/ask questions. he said my payment was received, credited my account for what should have been free HD service and for a false late fee.
If you ever need to contact Uverse, don't call the main line, call 1-800-983-2811. That bypasses the automated BS and puts you in direct contact with the Uverse department 6/29/2009 10:04:25 AM |

Just signed up for U200 and the Pro Internet package... May upgrade to Elite if Pro doesn't cut it. But, I don't do much online gaming these days. Just browsing, streaming video, and downloading.
What I'm excited about is the U200 package. It offers so much more than my Directv package at the same price and no initial costs. Directv wanted to charge me $199 for a reciever (that I can't keep). 7/2/2009 9:01:39 PM |

Except not really... The porn industry solved that problem by locking/terminating accounts of people who share their password. It's fairly easy to detect when one account gets logins from a few dozen IPs in a day. 7/5/2009 3:53:33 AM |

Except the porn industry is handling/distributing their own content. AT&T is distributing the content of lawsuit-happy television and movie studios... they have to cover their ass.

I still don't think it would be a problem. I know *I* am not going to give everyone on the internet access to my AT&T/yahoo account, which contains billing info, and permissions to program and delete content from my home DVR, all for the sake of letting some anonymous strangers watch HBO for free. 7/6/2009 4:30:32 AM |

Just bit the bullet and signed up for U200 + 6Mb Internet. Getting our driveway widened next week and the dish was going to have to get moved and they wanted $100 to do it. Cost me $140 to get out of the contract instead and I'm going to get at least $250 back from Uverse + Fatwallet for signing up.
So now what's the best way to get them to give me some more discounts? Call up and ask for them I'm guessing, but thought I'd check for any pointers or tips first. Hope I can get either the $10 HD fee waived for a year or free HBO for a year, either (or both) would be stellar. 7/9/2009 10:45:26 PM |

Quick question I haven't been able to get a good answer to.
Is the tv bandwidth and the internet bandwidth shared or is the tv separate from whatever bandwidth you order for the network.
I was under the impression it would probably have to be separate but have had conflicting answers. 7/13/2009 7:25:13 PM |

evan All American 27701 Posts user info edit post |
^^it's separate.
you basically get 25mbps to your house. whatever isn't used up by your internet gets used by your STBs.
25 - 18 = 7mbps, which is enough to support 2 HDTV streams or 4 SDTV streams, which is what you get.
my RG is reporting 25216kbps down and 2048kbps up, and i have the 18mbps internet plan.
on a related note, my line can support up to 45880kbps 7/13/2009 7:52:22 PM |

Is there a way to prioritize which shows you want to record? For instance if I have 3 hd shows set to record at the same time, is there a way to order shows so that it knows which ones I want recorded in hd.

^hmm, maybe i'm just missing it or something but I go push recorded tv on the remote > scroll to the right to Series > then what? If I select a show I can either cancel series or change settings then in there I can adjust what time to record, new or repeats, and what time to end the recording. I'm not seeing anything about priority. 7/18/2009 11:13:06 PM |

if you do call, be sure to get the guys name and employee ID and some verification of the deals. maybe it depends on the plan you have? like, the better the plan, the more you can record? i'm not really sure.
we have 3 things recording right now, 2 HD and 1 regular. and we're watching something we already have DVR'd.

that's probably your issue
i've heard of people that were provisioned on the 19200kbps plan only getting 1 HD stream - but they only put you on that plan if you're too far away from the VRAD to push the 25216kbps plan.
also, the premise tech that was just out here was the most fucking awesome dude ever. he got our shit working again AND was hilarious AND interesting to talk to. when i told him our RG was pretty much dead i said "yeah, basically it's being pretty gay."
from that point on, he referred to my address as "(house number) west gay mews" and wrote "this thing is pretty fucking gay" on the box he put the bad RG in, along with ""This is really gay." -Evan"

Hmm, yea ... ok I'll clarify, I just want internet ...
I know I can get service through TWC for $30-35/mo for the standard 8Mbit plan (by just calling and requesting the lower rate every 12 months) ... so should I even be considering U-Verse since they are wanting to charge me $43/mo for the 6Mbit plan?
I'll take quality of service/features/etc into consideration, really I'm just evaluating what's on the table.
Thanks. 7/29/2009 10:14:35 PM |
