And about the immigrants, do you really want to live like they did to satisfy your ideological beliefs? Google image search "industrial revolution" for libertarianism run wild. Maybe you can put your 10 year old children to work in factories so the owners can buy another car.
Think about the poor people in the country. You think they would wake up and start working? Or steal all your shit in the absence of gov't benefits? How do you want to live?

i know taxes are necessary, and dont disagree with them, im just against a government who lacks any control or frugality when it comes to taking and spending working people's income.

how many of these protesters are also birthers?
were they all tea-baggers too?
do they all still think obama is a muslim who pals around with terrorists?
how much of this fabricated vitriol at these town meetings is genuine? and how much of it is just outrage from a fringe of people who are just unwilling to accept the fact that a man named Barack is their president
this hate seems to not even be about healthcare. these people are just livid and i don't think they even know why 8/7/2009 7:10:38 PM |

i love how all the silly liberals are getting infuriated that someone else is utilizing the act of protesting. when liberals do it, its a noble action, when the right does it, they want to harness freedom of speech. give me a break.
these are also not just registered republicans, and a minority of them are part of grassroots groups, even though the media wants you to think otherwise.8/7/2009 7:20:26 PM |

nobody mentioned limiting free speech. but a town hall meeting is supposed to be an opportunity for civil discourse. that's not the case here. if you want to protest, that's fine, but its just stupid to ruin an opportunity to discuss and voice your opinion to your local politician when given the chance.
nobody is up in arms about this. nobody is saying that these people need to be muted. i just think it's stupid, and it's artificially raising the temperature of a hot topic. you and i both know that the goal here isn't to raise concern about healthcare, but rather to publicly denounce the president.
again, this is fine, but these eruptions aren't about healthcare, and its of my own opinion that these people are just mad for the sake of being mad. they're shouting things like "tyranny." when was the last time a tyrant offered healthcare for the entire populace? it just seems irrational at best.
Quote : | "that doesnt matter, theyre not running for president" |
i'm not even sure what you mean with this comment. the point i'm making is that there is probably a high overlap of tea-baggers/birthers/town hall protesters.

these town hall meetings arnt even protests. they were organized by the representative, and they were attended by constituents. this is a heated issue and of course there will be heated responses. not all of the people there are that rowdy and not all the town hall meetings have taken this course, thats all played by the news.8/7/2009 7:36:11 PM |
