I think that it's worth noting that when Kanye West takes anti-black actions and positions, nothing really happens to him. But when he espouses anti-Semitic views or tropes, that's when companies start taking notice, start deplatforming him, and sever his contracts.

I think it's natural for there to be fewer repercussions for criticism directed toward social and cultural groups to which one belongs. Commenting on other groups gets dicey.

While I agree that there is an in group/out group phenomenon; generally speaking the black community has not been supportive of Kanyes antics.



^ Kanye has a rich history of doing and saying attention grabbing things close to when an album is going to drop, or a new product is going to launch. I wouldn't be surprised if this was a promotion of some sort. However, Kanye West is mentally ill, and there are a host of people willing to take advantage of his. This, couples with the fact that he has been alienated by any reasonable friend who would help curb his worse impulses leaves us with this pathetic spectacle of a man.



I try so hard not to listen to anything he has to say, but I heard part of an interview he did recently.. Bruh, he sounds like a whiney 13 year old brat that does not think one millisecond before speaking.

I'm skeptical when it comes to labeling people as mentally ill especially when the motives are ideological. I don't know if this triggers my own conspiratorial thinking but when I see Nazis celebrating, I get a little worried.

true, but we've also given him more of a grace-period than we normally would've/should've allowed. we thought he was coming from an insightful angle with similar perspective when he said slavery was a choice. we thought cosigning with MAGA was outside of the box thinking. the pete davidson stuff was just emotional response to divorce. donda 2 might still come as a completed project and the stem players weren't a scam.

tired of making excuses for him. his shoes and beats slapped though. really hope his fall from grace and future conservative talking-head role gives him some clarity and he can snap out of it before he's on his deathbed.

Man, I haven't supported Kanye's bafoonery in years. I haven't bought any of his shoes, haven't purchased an album, and have actively shouted down his nonsense.

I honestly think that black people lack the structural power to hold him accountable for his anti-blackness (wearing the Confederate flag, wearing white lives matter shirts, appearing with Candace Owens, suggesting slavery was a choice) despite the general condemnation in the community.
There are plenty in the the Jewish community with sufficient sway and power to deplatform Kanye though. Case in point.
