CJL sucks. I can't believe any NBA team would take him right now. He needs a lot of development.

You are a bad fan calling players out on TWW.

What are recruits going to think when they read that?

I dont understand not wanting to try at something you are good/ wanting to get a career in. I could care less if he hates the school, the student body is paying for you to be here and use us as a spring board to the NBA try a bit.

saw CJ at the AMF on Buck Jones tonight. I think he bowled a 118, not real sure because he was over playing pool already so it might not have been his lane

If they have the attitude that Leslie has shown so far hopefully they will stay the fuck away.

this is why i never put stock in "stars"

i can't help but wonder if a lot of these guys are wasting their career by choosing nc state.
wonder if they would be better developed somewhere else?

uhhh, the stars were pretty on-point w/ cjl. look back on the previous page to see his stats... not bad at all for a freshman averaging 23 mins. he's a freshman, and he makes stupid decisions.

I guess it shouldn't be that surprising that someone who commits, then de-commits, then re-commits is going to, obviously, have some commitment issues.

Yes and no. There are time where Wood half-asses it. The announcers even called him out yesterday during a loose ball scramble where wood just bent over to get the ball instead of going to the floor and of course it got knocked away to Duke. Wood does show more effort than most these guys but sometimes I still scratch my head.

Lo Brown is probably my favorite player thus far, seeming to give 100% most of the time. If we had 5 of him on the floor, I feel like we might have a shot.

I think that was actually a good play by Brown, and poor play from Duke since it look like their "hustle" kept us from turning the ball over with a backcourt violation.

Don't take Len Elmore and Mike Patrick too seriously when they "call out" anyone.

^That's exactly what I thought. At first I was wondering what the hell Zo was doing...but it would have been a backcourt violation if he picked it up. Instead the Duke player dove for it and knocked it out.

it was wood. he's not talking about the one in the backcourt. he's talking about the one after a shot, after an attempted rebound, and the ball was on the floor. scott bent at the hips, while the duke player was on the floor. i believe it ended up being a jump ball and duke's possession.

There was another play earlier with wood. It resulted in a held ball iirc.

Lo Brown is showing lots of potential in situations where most guys on our team seem to be frustrated or already checked out...

I'm not saying run the offense through him, but he is showing heart and a Hell of quick first step from the top of the key. In the Carolina debacle, he was taking it to the hole and finishing almost effortlessly. Lowe should really find a way to get him more touches and get other guys involved, or at least to feed off his game. Seems like he really could be a huge building block. He is the only player I have confidence in at this point. He seems to have character and a natural feel of how to help the team get out of those slumps we seem to hit every game.

Get him the ball more. Immediately. Please.

I'm sure most of you know this by now, but I didn't see any closure to the whole CJL may be out for the season (suspended) talk earlier. It appears it was just one game, and he'll be back against WFU. (yay a win?)

I'm not sure why, but Harrow seem to take an inordinate amount of shots compared to 1's on other teams. He shoots on nearly 27% of the possessions he is involved in. And the worst part, is that he is a terrible shooter. 40% and 22% from 3 and taking a quarter of our shots? Yeah, that's a recipe for a lot of losses.

He needs to reign it in and take a look over at Kendall Marshall and learn how to run an offense.

^ yes, I saw that. It is good news. We need CJL to be back next year...

Yeah dude, if any of you see any of our basketball players out on the street, you need to do something to pick them up emotionally. Let him know we're behind him, and we want them to pick their asses up off the floor and win. We're tired of their ticky tack prima donna bullshit. WE WANT WINS!

Our coaching staff needs this guy:

From NBAdraft.net
Quote :
"Weaknesses: Leslie sometimes gets too carried away with his versatility, and tends to get a little out of control with the ball in his hands ... A little overconfident in his handle. Tries to do too much off the dribble at times, can be turnover prone ... He'll need to develop more of a consistent jump shot and add range to keep his defender honest, which will open up more opportunities for him in the faceup game as well ... Lacks fundamental footwork in the post... needs to improve touch around the hoop when not dunking, and should add some more post up moves to his repertoire ... It's been said that he lacks concentration and focus ... Wouldn't hurt to add more bulk to his frame ... A little bit of a tweener. Will need to decide on one of the two forward positions and work on becoming the best he can at that positio"

That just seems spot on to me.

This has always impressed me about NBA players. After watching mostly college basketball, it's nice to see big men being able to hit open jumpers inside the arc. CJ seems out of sync when he's taking jump shots but there's no doubt he can develop a steadier rhythm with practice.
