i just believe that if we treated each other with a little bit of decency vs bashing and putting each other down that it would foster a higher self esteem for the average person which would lead to more confindence. Confidence = biggest motivator of all.

on a somewhat similar note, i am doing some volunteer work for the Cape Fear Regional Theater and they are having a summer camp for kids

There are too many fatties that are young, sitting inside who get shitty lunches and snacks

I almost told one parent he needs to put his kid in football/basketball/soccer/anything outdoors camp other wise he is going to wind up with a weird theater kid who is also fat and high school is going to be rough for him

Im not endorsing a "pro-fat" mentality. Still, nobody deserves to hate themselves and its not your place to help that along. In fact, someone else's weight and body image has... wait for it... NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU. If you dont want to look at it, turn your head. Our society if filled to the brim overly sensitive "im offended" asshats.

That being said, no overweight person wants to walk into a gym and work-out along side the fit and trim because people like you have stripped them of any and all confidence to do so.

Mob mentality is why new users get driven away. I don't like it, but it is what it is. I don't see how threads like this would drive people away? Also, I think nearly everyone respects the decision an overweight person makes upon realizing it's a good life decision to improve themselves.

well technically isn't this kind of wrong

i mean....aren't there lots of diseases that go hand in hand with being obese (i mean this goes more with obesity than just being a little overweight) that could affect heath care costs for people who are not subjecting themselves to obese diseases (like heart disease or whatever though i realize you can get this even if you are skinny)????

that is a real question, btw. i always hear this argument so now i'm throwing it out there to see if it has any validity.

smokers who bitch about not being able to smoke at whatever location are somewhat analogous to fat people talking about sex or complaining about their dating struggles.

anorexia is different, and i think there is likely a physical/ metabolic underlying related cause that is being missed by treating it simply as a psychological disorder.
