That's his stock response to hide the fact that he has no idea what's going on, other than the very shallowest of details.

^^ There was the part where the reporter reminded him that some Republicans applauded Obama for his response, and he asked Cain if he was saying that he would not be one of them--he had this deer in the headlights look, like he'd just been caught not taking the party line.

The way he kept rambling on about "doing a better job assessing the situation" made it sound to me like he didn't know what Obama did that the reporters were asking about, but wanted to disagree with Obama about something specific. So he just ignored the "decision" itself and insisted that he would do a better job "assessing the situation" before making any decision, even if that meant he would eventually make the same decision. It's funny how he said that he wants to get all the information before making a decision, but had no problem deciding that he would do a better job than Obama when he doesn't have all the information about how Obama assessed the situation.

That Libya interview was tough to watch. The "I would have the right information" line is bullshit. Should we not demand that a potential leader of the country have an adequate understanding of world events and the ability to perform some basic analysis?

The fact that this guy is considered a "frontrunner" makes me sad for the United States. The people let the party establishment and media choose their candidate.

just make sure obama and OWS are backing each other up next year around this time.... it doesn't matter who faces him, cain and his 100 million gaffes, or a fucking carrot stick. it doesnt matter, any of them would get more votes than that shit.

and yes, even i'm saying the 'leader/reader' gaffe is beyond ridiculous. ha, how does that make you feel that it would still be more than enough to take down this current joke we have in office? its beyond ridiculous. these current clowns are 'aligning' themselves with actual supporters of Joseph Stalin and Che Guevara. Recent mass murderers.

it puts the whole 'oops i made a gaffe trying to make a clever rhyme' into a little perspective.

don't kid yourself. he's a pretty laid back dude, and you know he didn't mean to make that connection. what he's emphasizing is that the economy is more important than the appropriate time to drink from your wine glass in uzbekistan during the pentecost, when going on the west asian tour of 2014. you can worry about that when you get to it.

but yeh, the 'conspiracy media' is right: CAIN HATES LITERACY.

I just read an article earlier this morning where Cain was saying an accusation of an affair is going to surface soon, and that it wasn't true.

Quote :
"Late this afternoon, Cain’s attorney, Len Wood, sent FOX 5 the following statement:

"Mr. Cain has been informed today that your television station plans to broadcast a story this evening in which a female will make an accusation that she engaged in a 13-year long physical relationship with Mr. Cain. This is not an accusation of harassment in the workplace – this is not an accusation of an assault - which are subject matters of legitimate inquiry to a political candidate.

Rather, this appears to be an accusation of private, alleged consensual conduct between adults - a subject matter which is not a proper subject of inquiry by the media or the public. No individual, whether a private citizen, a candidate for public office or a public official, should be questioned about his or her private sexual life. The public's right to know and the media's right to report has boundaries and most certainly those boundaries end outside of one's bedroom door.

Mr. Cain has alerted his wife to this new accusation and discussed it with her. He has no obligation to discuss these types of accusations publicly with the media and he will not do so even if his principled position is viewed unfavorably by members of the media.""

I'm not sure of the validity of the accusation, but only Dems can have an affair and serve public office.

eh, he was the first in the group of repubs that actually produced a tangible, simplistic, and concise plan. was it a good one? nope. but it was one people could look at and say "well this guy's got a plan instead of just saying they'll fix things"

it's no wonder it gained traction quickly.

it's just mind-boggling that he could be involved in a 13 year affair, end it and less than a year later run for president, and have the audacity to believe that the affair would not become public info.

I mean, look at John Edwards. He was cheating on his cancer-ridden wife while running for office, going so far as to bust a nut in his mistress and get her pregnant. This kind of arrogance is common among people that truly believe they are qualified to run people's lives.

Politics attracts the worst kind of people. That's why the only politicians I trust are the ones that 1) Plainly state that their goal is not to run people's lives, but to get the government out of our lives and 2) Have a proven record of standing on those principles.

Double post, etc - this is relevant to my last post though.

To summarize the summary: anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job."

A 13 year affair? Multiple allegations of sexual harassment?

This guy is the prime Democratic candidate, its a wonder the media isn't running with his image and pasting it on billboards nationwide.

that legal response was absurd. "hey, it was private and consensual shit, it shouldn't be dragged out into the open!" umm, Bill Clinton agrees. and even then, so what? it was. deal with it.

also, I liked the woman's statement about why she was coming out: she wanted to tell her side of the story. the fuck? there was NO SIDE to the story before you came out with your side. so, again, honey, why are you coming out with this? doesn't mean that what she's saying isn't true. just means she's got some ulterior motive for doing it

I'm willing to bet this affair DID happen... And that Cain tried to end things when he had the idea to run for president.

And that Ginger White was all like "word...that's all good and everything.... but if you want me to keep my mouth shut, I'm going to need you to make a rather large deposit in my bank account, kkthx"

And then Cain was all like "nah, baby...nah"

And now we're here.

Shit, if Cain was SMRT, he would spin this whole thing. He would be all like:

Hey girl, hey. That pusspuss was straight up garbage. Don't get me wrong, it used to be nice, tight, and right. Now, it's just trash. Pass.
AMURICA.... yeah, I fucked that ho. My bad. But check this out.... she tried to blackmail me. And I would rather have my reputation as a good husband tarnished than let this bitch blackmail me. Now you have all of my secrets. But think about it... would you really want a president in office susceptible to blackmail?

Surprise, surprise, surprise. Turns out this bitch was just looking for money.

And the liberal media runs with it like this skank had some shred of credibility.

Just like the same pathetic liberal media ran with 'anonymous accusations' of 'nothing overtly sexual'.

You people who follow get a hard on and lap up these stories in hopes of shutting up another conservative are fucking sad.

American politics is no longer a battle of ideas, it's a battle of character assassination. Maybe it never was, or hasn't been in generations.
