we gave up 45 points in a half to a team that scored 54 in the whole game against bryant university.

Our defensive problems are much worse than I thought. We were supposed to blow out shitty teams but we can't even do that in the ACC. Every game will be a battle. Don't see this team finishing very much above .500 with this defense.

^in fairness when the game slows down and there are 72 free throw attempts scores its easier to put up big numbers in a half. 65% of 37 attempts is still 24 pts.

I have learned today (again) to avoid the game day threads, but I will say that this team has the ability to pull out tough, close wins, which we couldn't say a year or two ago. We have a tendency to come out slow and play down to our opponents, but the guys step up when they need to.

We also have enough scoring depth where we can have a star player have an off night (Leslie, warren and wood tonight) and still have guys step up to fill in the gaps. If we could ever have everyone clicking on all cylinders there is not a single team in the country who could beat us

I think that's key. Unfortunately, I have to watch a lot of Wake bball (girlfriend's alma mater). If McKie and CJ Harris aren't playing their absolute best, Wake gets destroyed.

We (State) can have our two leading scorers (CJL and Warren) put up average numbers and still pull out an ACC win. That's a pretty good feeling, even if that game was mostly brutal to watch.

In my opinion we've proven in every game except for Oklahoma State that we are able to win those battles. It will hurt us in the ACC tourny if we have down-to-the-wire games on three straight days but on a game by game basis I feel like we'll be ok.
