can't wait to listen to 610 the fan in the morning here in charlotte. Should be lovely. Those guys are always pissed that Cam doesn't get the love the Wilson and RGIII and Luck and Kaepernick get. Well, he had his chance today, head to head...and he hasn't been as good. 9/8/2013 3:49:36 PM |

lets look at.
russell can hit multiple receivers (like this drive) down the field. he has 300 yds and he's not doing anything really
cam really has only one good target who can run a route (besides olsen) this makes us rely on the running game a lot. the running backs STAY hurt and you wear them down
other teams can pass the ball all over the field cause they have multiple catching threats. 9/8/2013 3:51:27 PM |

This game was squarely on the offense, defense played their asses off, aside from the one touchdown play. Can't score 1 touchdown in the nfl and expect to win 9/8/2013 3:56:21 PM |

god knows if we actually could punch it in the endzone.

What was the deal with those penalties on Smith? They wouldn't show a damn replay in the stadium.
Cam protected the ball and put us in a position to win the game and Deangelo shat the bed. I'm not putting that loss on him. 9/8/2013 6:48:01 PM |
HaLo All American 14263 Posts user info edit post |
First penalty on smith was he got pushed out and then ran out of bounds about 15 yards before coming back in. Can't do that have to make a quick reentry.
Second one, he ran out of bounds without help. 9/8/2013 7:12:18 PM |
TreeTwista10 minisoldr 148440 Posts user info edit post |
the replay official on FOX basically said the first one was bullshit, cause he was pushed out and the NEW rule says you have to come back in 'within a reasonable period of time' or something subjective like that 9/8/2013 7:14:54 PM |
HaLo All American 14263 Posts user info edit post |
The first one wasn't bullshit at all. Smith ran a good 15 yards downfield 1 yard out of bounds and he had plenty of opportunity to come in. The defense can't block some one who is ob that's why the rule is there. 9/8/2013 7:22:43 PM |
Kurtis636 All American 14984 Posts user info edit post |
It's subjective, he also said in his judgment the player should be angling back to the field of play and cannot just run parallel to the sideline. It looked a bit like that's exactly what he did in my opinion. 9/8/2013 7:22:59 PM |

I don't know if I've ever heard of a gunner penalized for not getting in bounds fast enough until today, and of course we get two
figures
On the bright side Tampa and Atlanta both lost today too, so the damage is somewhat mitigated considering we played one of the better teams on our schedule. 9/8/2013 8:10:55 PM |

Just got back from the game Charlotte........ANOTHER game that I go to that we lose. I'd eventually like to experience a win........maybe.
Sat in club level too.....damn damn damnnnn.
Defense looked very solid. Russell was getting eaten alive in the first quarter. Gotta protect Cam better and need more WRs. Olsen's 1st quarters drops and D-Wills' fumbles killed us, especially the one in the red zone.

Tossed $100 on us to win the division at 6:1 odds.
We look pretty damn good this year and there's no way Atlanta gets as lucky as they did last year.
New Orleans looked solid and actually tampa is probably underrated now that was a fluke loss, but our offense looks good and our defense has a ton of potential.
There were so many near sacks that RW just found a way to avoid. 9/11/2013 6:40:56 PM |

http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2013/09/11/4306256/newton-not-biting-on-issues-involving.html
Quote : | "Newton isn’t throwing a party.
“You don’t have a bar mitzvah just because you’re a starting African-American quarterback in this league,” Newton said Wednesday. “Even though I’m a fan of everybody, I can’t say I just root for Michael Vick, (Robert Griffin III), Russell Wilson, Colin Kaepernick. I still feel like I learn just as much from Michael Vick as I do from Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers or even RG3.”" |
Quote : | "If you have skills to play the game of football, then you’re going to play no matter what your race,” Newton said. “I didn’t feel any type of pressure coming into this league saying that I have to represent for all African-Americans, like saying all my fans are just African-American. When I play this game I play it to the best of my ability so I can inspire everyone, not just a particular set of people." |
Cam is just the best
Quote : | "I think if Cam wouldn’t have had success, we wouldn’t have some of the zone-read option we have going on with some of the other quarterbacks,” wide receiver Steve Smith said. “It isn’t just black quarterbacks. You got (Cleveland’s) Brandon Weeden doing it. It’s a copycat league. You’re going to get people to copy success. And if success is in the style of quarterback, people are going to do it. Doesn’t matter the race.”
Smith said there’s a lot of racial code when it comes to football. An “athletic quarterback” is a black guy, he says, and a “high-motor guy on defense” is white. Newton was pegged as an athletic quarterback coming out of Auburn for his size (6-foot-5, 250 pounds) and rushing ability (he rushed for 1,473 yards as a junior)." |
and Smitty is one of my top-3 all time favorite people9/11/2013 9:58:20 PM |
