Before, we all blamed Fowler. Like, he shouldn't have handled the search publicly, and really, he shouldn't have. It was humiliating. But now Yow is taking it private, and the media are still there to get us. They get us the way they always have. They never suffer any consequences for what they say, and they've been allowed to do it for so long that everybody thinks it's normal and right. It's not normal and right. It's just hegemony.

Also, I've never in all my life heard somebody worth anything call Valvano a dirty coach. He had his flaws, and we all know them, but even Dean Smith and Coach K strongly defended him when he came under those bullshit attacks. Were you raised a Chapel Hill fan, simonn? What is wrong with you? And what is wrong with the rest of you for not saying anything?

Is anybody paying attention? We've been publicly rejected by two coaches already by way of Miller's dad and Seth Davis' Twitter account. Why did Yow even bother to do this privately? I mean, they're always gonna bash us. They'll just evolve to new media like Twitter:

If I remember right, she also said that she would be looking at coaches herself, and if she found a good candidate she would move forward on her own in that regard. She didn't give up her powers by hiring a search firm

No, he's pretty accurate actually. V did what most coaches do only he got caught. He paid the piper. No shame in anything he did. Just unlucky, really.

Basically college fans are the most hypocritical in sports. If "your team's coach" does something wrong he's misunderstood and the NCAA is out to get them. If "some other team's coach" does something wrong he's a crook, cheater, asshole and kicked your dog.

The people in media won't get paid unless they write a column. It's hard to write a good column when there isn't much info out there. So they end up making up stuff writing some stuff with all kind of speculation. Sometime this speculation might turn to be true just by chance. This is is basically what is happening between N.C. State coaching search and media.
