tartsquid: have you tried make up for ever? the foundation is pricey ($40 for the full coverage high definitions, $36 for lighter matte velvets) but they have a wide range of colors. i'm black and there are few brands that come close to having a decent match for my skin. with mufe i don't think you'd have a problem.
i've also seen people with decent skin use just a mac studio fix, and they're good to go.

So ladies I got a job working at Saks Fifth Avenue.
I know a lot of you enjoy the Wacoal bras and whatnot, so you will have to now come and see me since I'm gonna be in intimates & children (right beside each other). I will also let you know when we're having specials and whatnot.
I'll also let you know about anything in the store if you want lol. 12/16/2009 3:23:15 PM |

I have been rocking new stuff this week.
We'll have to make it a quarterly thing or something. Next time, I'll kick Joe out of the basement - this one was much larger!

Tall ladies: what do you do about a dress that's borderline being too short because of tallness? I have a feeling I'm gonna have to end up returning this one, but I'm trying to decide if I can pair it with some really opaque sweater tights and get away with it. It's supposed to be mid-thigh length but on me it's a micromini, and that does not jive with my huge thighs so much. 12/16/2009 6:31:19 PM |

^^i've bought tights at belk before and they had a range of sizes, so you should be able to find some that suit your height; they usually have a few assorted colors, though there are definitely a lot more of the neutrals/staples
^i would try opaque sweater tights...or maybe add a bit of lace at the hemline if that would work with the rest of the dress 12/16/2009 6:42:30 PM |

It's this dress: http://modcloth.com/store/ModCloth/Womens/Jill+of+All+Trades+Dress+in+CEO
I considered putting a cream colored slip underneath and letting it peek out, but I don't think that really fits the style. I might have to give up on it and move on, even though it would be perfect if it were 5 inches longer. 12/16/2009 6:54:05 PM |

definitely try the tights i guess there isn't enough fabric to let the hem out a bit?

for anyone traveling for the holidays, i discovered packing cubes at bed bath & beyond and they are amazing! i kind of knew about them but never tried them, i have a two week trip to pack for that requires everything from a bikini and beach towel to sweaters and christmas gifts
http://eaglecreek.com/accessories/packing_cubes/
i bought the packit cube & half cube. ended up with 4 of the big ones & 4 of the half sized ones.
here is roughly what i got into them....
1 pair of jeans 3 long sleeve swear-like shirts 2 pair of pjs 3 bikinis 10 pair of underwear 3 bras 1 beach wrap 1 dress 1 lightweight bathrobe 2 short sleeve shirts 3 tank tops 3 camis 4 pair of shorts 1 windbreaker 3 workout tops 1 pair workout capri 2 pair of fuzzy socks 3 pair of workout socks
i have a half cube filled with toiletries and another filled with christmas gifts, including my stocking (small gifts obvi) and i have a regular cube to spare so all that shit fit into 3 large cubes and 2 small cubes. i for one am impressed
as a result of the cubes i was also able to pack
1 pair of heels 1 pair of running shoes 1 pair of flip flops 1 gigantic beach towel 3 books 1 hat 1 pair of sunglasses 1 beach bag 1 camelbak water bottle
not to mention the regular travel shit: laptop, ipod, chargers, digital camera etc (non essential electronics are in another type of cube)
ALL of this shit will fit into

Kirks castile is available at kroger at timber/70.
Borax is available at target. I haven't had washing soda on my mind lately, so it's not something I've noted the availability of I'll be doing that shortly.
If anyone is interested, I have individual packets of straight liquid castile detergent. I use it on pet laundry

I think the other brand of bar soap you are talking about is Zote (I've seen it at Target.). You can also get all of these items at Kroger. 12/17/2009 10:33:48 PM |
