I'll give you the summary: a handful of people want him shitcanned immediately so we can start this whole process over with even less of a chance than we had in 2006 of hiring a respectable coach.

Most of the reasonable, rational like folks (myself, NyM, wolfpackAA or whatever and others) realize that's stupid. Give the guy time to prove his worth. No coach can do that in three years, especially not a guy who was in Sid's situation.

Now, repeat that conversation about 112 times and you have the Sidney Lowe credibility watch.

No,the whole process should never happen unless Fowler is gone first. There isn't a person
here on YOUR site that wanted Sid here more than me. But let me tell you something my friend,
I have seen this movie before and you don't have to believe me. All Im saying is sure he should
be here next year with his recruits but what I saw being a former coach I didn't like. Im not going
to rewrite this SLCW blog,so don't worry. I'll let you in on a little scoupe,great players don't always make great or even good coaches,they most of the time will either not have the patience or cannot get the message across. He is a Jimmy V disciple but he is not jimmy V. V was not a great player,I have seen with my own eyes that these types of players have it all locked up upstairs for what they have to do on the court to excel. Their gifted to begin with and a desire to win. That is Sidney Lowe,and that is why it must be soo frustrating for him to fail. I want him to succeed and hope he does. I unlike you am running out of time with State. You will one day know what I mean.

Hate to bring up Herb, but he walked into a shitty program with no real history (certainly in worse shape than State was) and has not only showed improvement every year during his tenure, but made it to the tourney...

All I'm saying is it's not unreasonable to expect a coach to do something within three years... especially in the ACC. It's not like there's been incremental improvement over the years (like we've been seeing in football), it's been getting worse and worse. Not sure how anyone can be confident in Lowe at this point.

Harden is also a guard....a guy you can put the ball in his hands and have confidence that he can make something happen. I promise you that if we replace JJ hickson with Harden or anyone else at the 2 position who can handle the rock, we are much better last year. For the last time, you can't do shit in this game without guards...fucking Shaq would have sucked on this team last year.

I just want to point out how stupid this comment is on so many levels, most importantly being that we were supposed to suck this year and be worse than our 4 ACC win team from the year before, but we lost the best player and won 2 more games and had a chance to win several more, unlike last year when we were pretty much blown out every game.

Difference between when Herb got here and Lowe got here is that Herb inherited an abysmal program...Lowe just inherited a pretty bad team. Herb didn't just have to rebuild the team...he had to change the whole perception of this program. We were getting top-300 recruits and he had to slowly build us to where top 100 recruits would even look at us.

So although Lowe didn't really inherit a team that has been to 5-straight NCAA tourney appearances...he did inherit a very solid program.

The players in Lowe's first couple years are definitely more talented/highly rated...but they sure don't fit well together. Herb's guys his first couple years were solid bench players that played with a lot of heart and just played well together (or maybe you could say Herb coached them to play together?? i don't know?).

Yeah guys, Herb had a huge advantage returning like two starters from an 11-16 team.

Plus, revisionist history says Engin Atsur was like the best player ever, so how does Lowe not have the advantage?
